Tilley T5 Unisex Cotton Duck Hat (Khaki, 7 3/8)

Got a smaller brim for this my second Tilley. Love my Tilley’s. I replaced my first with the guarantee after 12 years of wear and tear in the heat and washing the sweat out.

I’m a hardcore fedora wearer and looked suspiciously at the Tilley as far back as 2003. Preparing for a trip to Florida next month, I decided to pull the trigger and buy a T5. VERY impressed with the quality and fit. I’ll be interested to see how it performs. If I HAD to 'nitpick', I'd only say the grommets really need to have a screen or be smaller, as the hat is listed as a great rain hat, but the holes let water in....as well as flying bugs. They make a grommet that has a screen across the hole that would alleviate this problem. Other than that, 100% satisfied!

My husband bought his first Tilly hat on his 50th birthday at St. John’s Pass in Florida. Yes, it was pricey, but it was his 50th birthday and I was really sick and tired of seeing him in a baseball cap… They are simply the best hats if they are worn, they will replace it. It used to be for free now it’s for half the price therefore my husband is on his fifth hat and he just turned 75….. Our grandchildren and great grandchildren call him Pap in the Hat because he is never without it lol… People stop and ask him what kind it is or if they know they simply say…. Nice Tilly! It’s great for protecting him from the sun. He looks so handsome in it… He has a winter one and a summer one and he never looks… Silly in a Tilly…btw… I never take the time to write reviews, but this one was a must!

the large is too small for an average head.

I got my first Tilley Hat when I was overseas in Africa with the Army. I traded my UN beret for one (Canadian Officer) and I fell in love with them. When I got home, I picked one up at a local sporting goods store and then found myself with 3 of them, all the T3 model. Well, here I am, buying a T5 model because I wanted one to wear when I go out shopping with my wife and the T3 has a very wide brim and the T5 is narrower on the side. I love these hats and they last a long, long, long time. I still have my first one from Africa and I got it in 1993. Still going strong. Highly recommended. BTW, they have a lifetime warranty and you just send it what is left and they will replace it, no questions asked.

Much better than the old canvas Tilley hats. Retains its size and feels comfortable. Tends to blow or get knocked off unless you use the chin lace. Overall a great sailing hat.
