Use extreme caution when using these with a hand held drill. When I first used them, I wasn't as careful and the drill ripped right out of my hands. Fortunately I was able to let go with no injuries. The set comes with a lot of sizes and they work perfectly once I got used to using them. If you start your project with a small hole and gradually increase the diameter, you'll find that these work amazingly. They are very loud when in use, but they chew through wood very quickly. For the cost, it's 100% worth it! The travel case is really nice and offers a perfect way to keep the set organized.

I had a cheap set of spade bits and was tired of the tear out when using them. I upgraded to these (you get what you pay for is the lesson) and wow what a difference. with the threaded tip this pulls the spade through the wood without much force making a clean cut.Not sure why I waited so long but thinking of purchasing these for my son as a gift so he also has a quality set.

Good product

I love these bits, the tip in the middle really helps pull the bit through and makes the bore very fast. These bits shine with impact drivers since they have the power to keep up and will not rip out of your hands (plus they are 1/4in shank).I haven't used them with any drill less than 18volts, but I'm guessing you could use these with a drill/driver 14.4v. If you have a 12volt drill/driver or less, I would recommend against these bits.Also I haven't been able to get very smooth results, I would recommend these if you want to make typical rough holes fast. Not a set you would use everyday, but still well worth the money.

I bought this spade set for future projects as I had a basic set that I used for a few things, and wanted to upgrade my bits so I am prepared for what comes down the line. This seems like a good quality set. It features several sizes (more than my basic kit has) and stores everything in its own pouch/bag. Overall, I am happy with this product and confident that when I will need it, it will not fail to deliver.

Tore through wood like butter. Much higher quality than no-name products. Worth the price.
