NKP Keypad

Has been very useful with the Chester Creek over-size key keyboard that do not come with a number pad, I can plug it into a USB port and use it with there keyboard.

I ordered this for my 97 year old mother to use. I hooked it up to her computer, confirmed that the computer saw it and it worked. Six weeks later, on a return visit, it no longer worked. The little red light does not go on. The computer sees that "something" is there, but it is unable to recognize it. I tried a dozen different ways to make the computer recognize it, including different USB ports and a different computer, telling it what was there, loading drivers for a generic keypad, and a few more complicated suggestions from the internet, but it simply did not work. My mother said it quit working "a while ago" and she assumed that she must have done something wrong, and waited for me to come back and fix it. So, two months after purchase, it's too late to return it. I wish I had listened to those other comments about it dying quickly. Apparently there is serious quality control problems with this device. (It was never dropped on the floor, or played with by children, It simply sat on a desk.)

It arrived today and it works as advertised. My computer easily recognized and the install was a snap. My only issue with it is that it does not have the adjustable legs to angel it, so it only lays flat. I also have the accompanying Chester Creek full Keyboard which does have the angled legs, which I like to use. So unfortunately they don't match up with each other.

The keypad is easy to connect but its benefits go downhill from that point. It has a 00 button that has never worked. The number lock key also refuses to function. These are not keys that I am accustomed to using, but they would operate on a quality product. The real frustrating problem is that the number 8 key's temperament. It usually operates correctly but occasionally it spits out two 8s at once and on other days it decides to produce no number 8 when it is depressed.

I order this for someone in the office that had a splint on one finger. She liked the bigger keys and is still using it even after having the splint removed.

I had purched the chester creek keyboard, because of my eye sight, but needed keypad also. now I don't have to have two keyboards, Love it.

I purchased this numeric keypad to be able to insert special characters combining the Alt Key + an ASCII code, as can be done with any standard Numeric Keypad on a standard keyboard, for instance: Alt+130 for é, or Alt+168, for ¿, etc. I contacted the makers of the product and they replied that I was attempting to do something that can not be done with a numeric keypad.

Use it at work where we have to wear gloves and loose dexterity. The big keys are great in this situation.
