One Star for Myst IV
If you're considering buying this game, consider very carefully, especially if you enjoyed some of the earlier "Myst" games. There is very little that is positive about "Myst IV: Revelation" besides the high-quality graphics, camera, improved movement and the theme song that plays at the main menu. In general, the game is a frustrating queue of puzzle after puzzle, with little incentive to actually spend the time to solve them. The worlds are disappointing, and the game has a heavy dose of New-Age material, signifying a departure from the mainly mechanical nature of the earlier "Myst" games. The Ages While every detail is in place, and the quality of the graphics good, the worlds are disappointing; unattractive and un-enjoyable to interact with.Tomanha is a collection of glass houses; nice aspects, but could have been better.Haven is one of the better worlds, with a few lovely places. Still, it wasn't that great.Spire is the ugliest world I've ever seen in any of the "Myst" games. If you've seen the Disney rendition of "Sleeping Beauty" you'll see Spire bears a resemblance to the evil Maleficent's castle.Serenia, while difficult to actually describe, is an unlikable world nonetheless. It is chock-full of New-Age material. The Puzzles Not all the puzzles in this game are hard, but some are time consuming and frustrating. In Serenia especially once you solve one puzzle another one soon follows. Unlike in "Myst III: Exile" where you don't mind spending an hour fiddling with controls, all you want to do with "Revelation" is get the puzzles, and the whole game for that matter, done and over with. The infamous "Mangree Puzzle" is located in Haven. Even when you know what you are supposed to accomplish and are good at producing the correct sounds, it's still a pain. You also have to deal with "The Throne" in Spire (no pun intended). This puzzle also deals with sounds and it's annoying-a walkthrough is recommended if you have my patience level. Unless you're lucky, you'll need a game patch for the "Mangree Puzzle" and probably for "The Throne." Fortunately, the patches are free and fairly easy to download and install at Ubisoft's website. This game is not worth your time or money. For the most part, the worlds are un-enjoyable, the puzzles aren't fun and all you want to do is finish the game as quickly as possible. If you want, listen to the theme song somehow, the best thing about "Revelation" and perhaps see screenshots if you want to see what the game looks like. But if you liked the other Myst games, there is absolutely no guarantee you'll like this one; in fact, it will probably be exactly the opposite.

Amazing set!
I am so happy I found a good used copy of this game. I could not find this title or Exile for purchase digitally anywhere. I had to look for a physical copy. I bought the limited edition version which includes Revelations on 2 DVDs and Myst 3 Exile on one DVD, so it was a 3 DVD disc set. The box came in great condition, had everything inside it. The discs were in like new condition. The games installed fine on my Windows 7 64-bit PC, with no issues. Just put DVD in the drive and I selected full install option, Revelation took 8 GB of hard drive space, Exile a little over 2.A lot of users said you can't run these on Windows 7 64-bit, but I can say, both games play fine on my machine. You might need to change compatibility settings but they do run. My only complaint is Exile runs a little slow, every time you click, instead of instantly going there, the audio repeats or lags a bit, but other than that, that's it.Exile and Revelations are great games, amazing soundtracks, great story, and the visuals are fantastic. Revelations is more animated and life-like than Exile, but both are great in there own regard. I am so glad I found this great collection to finish off my Myst Series.

Great graphics, but....
Myst has def. come a long way. Beautiful moving visuals in IV create a beautiful, immersive experience. But with one good aspect, comes 2 negatives. 1) As opposed to Myst and Riven, which create a lonely, baron feeling dotted with a few human encounters here and there, IV is full of people who talk way too much and interrupt the flow of this usually investigative and contemplative platform. This detracts from the sense of isolation which has always been so important and special about these games. 2) The puzzles are way too difficult. I realize that they are supposed to be challenging, but coupled with clunky levers and nobs to interact with, most of the puzzles are either too ridiculous to understand or are near impossible to execute. I have always loved the fact that these games are very tough to figure out at first, but when closely examined unlock a new way of thinking about a challenge. This game does not allow or provide the same sort of satisfaction in terms of problem solving, and when they do occasionally hit the mark, often times the controls prohibit any immediate sense of accomlishment, creating a frustrating and annoying task. Eyes love it, brain hates it.

Myst IV Revelation
Up to this time there are many people describing the game in almost any direction possible, so I am not going to repeat how great this game is. At this point probably computers are faster and more powerful than the optimum requirements for the game. So, perhaps gamers are probably encountering other problems running Vista or Windows 7. I still have Windows XP Service pack 3 with an Nvidia Geforce 7900 GS. The only problem I had was that in my experience with Myst 4 was that Disk 2 and not Disk 1 was the one that launches the game, other than that Myst IV runs with all options at full throttle with no problems. The game is smooth, transitions are fluid and graphics are exceptional. So, my recommendation is to have Windows XP Service Pack 3 loaded in a game machine. I do not have Vista or Windows 7 so I cannot comment how it will run on those environments. So have fun as I have playing Myst during the last 15 years or so. Myst IV: Revelation (DVD-ROM)

Not like the others!!
I expected more from myst. The game is fun and entertaining in a sense. The puzzles are fun but they dont have logical solutions.Maybe it would make more sense to an astronomer or scientist, but the world i live in these would never be possible. However i do realize for some, thats the intrigue of myst.Overall i guess for the price it was a good deal but just not like the others before.

Happy
Yay! I got to finally play this. Came in good time and in good shape. I did need to use an older computer because new ones can't play some older games, but it wasn't too expensive (being old, lol) so worth it to be able to play these!

problème d'installation
L'installation nécessitait un deuxième disque d'installation pour MAC, il n'y avait qu'un disque.
