Wisdom pouring off the pages. Don't be put off by some of the Buddhist language. It's readable.

I found this book helpful. I am interested in martial arts and non-duality. This book presents core teachings from the Vajrayana Buddhist tradition that a person with those interests could find useful. The thing about ancient teachings, which these are, is that may seem inaccessible but that is often a function of language. The teachings are presented in a "code" with which we have to become familiar before the teachings make full sense intellectually. And we have to do something - meditating - to realize them and experience the truth they point to. These teachings are about something that happens beyond rational thought. Reading is just the first step. But we must begin somewhere. I heard some people become enlightened while waiting at bus stops.

Profound insight, beautifully presented, available to anyone.
Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche is one of the most brilliant and truly inspired young Tibetan Buddhist teachers in the world today. When you read his teachings, you are getting the real, pure, undiluted "deal," just as if you had somehow been given a chance to sit, today, at the feet of the Buddha. When a teacher is genuine, and not a charlatan, you can tell -- there is no agenda beyond finding ways to express truth that are daring, available, and mind-opening. There is no "ego" involved in these beautiful teachings, but simply tons of compassion, humor, and penetrating insight. Mahamudra and Dzogchen are among the most "advanced" forms of Buddhism ever in this world, but Ponlop Rinpoche, without ever "reducing" or "simplifying" them, finds brilliant ways to open them up for the western student, and to introduce the reader to his or her own mind, which is always, first and last, the whole point.Very highly recommended to anyone.
