Nike run series broken up
This was a mix constructed by James Murphy for the Nike Run series. The 45:33 refers to the approximate length more so than the vinyl speeds (all 4 sides at 33-1/3rpm), although the accompanying mp3 downloads total closer to 47 minutes. The tracks are not given names for the digital download either. Just a little too long to fit comfortably on one disc, this ends up being a lot of vinyl flipping for this much music. Even still, this ends up being my 2nd favorite LP from LCD Soundsystem after Sounds of Silver. The mastering is good and it sounds great aside from the noise from the paper particles from the generic/cheap paper sleeves. Not to affect my rating since I rate the item and not the vendor: Amazon shipped this loose in a box, not in their cardboard folder, so there was a little corner damage and it probably slid around more than it would have. :(You can listen to this on YouTube and check my comments there.

Excellent Album! Good Sound. Hypnotic.
I first became aware of LCD Soundsystem through their "Sound of Silver" CD. I liked it so much that I also purchased "This is Happening" when it first came out and followed that up with "London Sessions." What a terrific bunch of CDs! At about that time I became aware that LCD was quitting and would have a grand final concert and that it would be out in the DVD format. Naturally, I had to have it. Well, it's the best concert DVD I own, out of a collection of about 25. Incredible! In any case, I enjoy James Murphy and LCD Soundsystem so much that I went back and purchased several more CDs, including "45: 33." Evidently this comes in several versions so I might indicate that I have the version containing the very long "45:33" track, plus three shorter tracks. All make for very good listening. The first track (actually 6 tracks) seems to play forever. It's long and drawn out with many interesting variations. My interest waxes and wanes as I listen to it. When I first listened to it, I became somewhat anxious wondering what all this was leading to. On later listens, I just relaxed and let it unfold. Very, very enjoyable! It's mostly electronic stuff, but has voices and a lot of acoustical instruments interspersed. Very nice mix. well done! All of the following three tracks are well done and make for good listening. However, I especially like "North American Scum - Onanistic Dub." First of all, what a neat song! I was in love with it from the first listen on the "Sound of Silver" CD. Then I got a quite different version on the concert DVD. It was equally good, I might add, just different. Quite different. Now here it is again on the "45:33' CD and sounding quite different than the other two. Onanistic dub; that's funny! Well, what the hey? If I love the song what's better than three really quality versions of it? The song on this CD is stripped down to a throbbing hypnotic electronic background with a woman vocalist in the background yelling out "North America" (the only vocals) at selected intervals within the electronic background. It's quite different than the other two versions I have and, you know, the Onanistic Dub could actually end up as my favorite version.Well, this is an excellent album. May I extend a plea to James Murphy? Please come back! It doesn't have to be as LCD Soundsystem. You're too great of a talent to lose. I'll buy anything you turn out. Trust me.Gary Peterson

Great for listening while running
This album was specifically arranged to listen to while running. Nike paid LCD Soundsystem to do just that. It is great for that purpose. A little strange to listen to outside of a workout.

Nice mix from the LCD peeps
If you are an LCD Soundsystem fan, you probably already have this in your collection. If you are like me and wanted to catch up on their back catalog, this is a must. I loved this mix, with it's unique sound.LCD Soundsystem went on strongly for years, then suddenly called it quits in 2011. In 2016, they are back and I was interested in catching up on more than just their hits. Also check out the DVD, Shut Up and Play the Hits. Great one for the LCD Soundsystem fan.

Reflektor prompted me to buy this...
I always knew LCD Soundsystem were considered a good group, but I never checked them out until I listened to Arcade Fire's latest album, Reflektor. Knowing that LCD frontman James Murphy produced a lot of that album, I wanted to check out more of his work. I chose this one because of the price, and I like what I hear. I describe it to friends as organic dance music--it doesn't have the overly produced or super tight soundscape of electronic artists. It's funky, loose-sounding dance music. This was a nice introduction to the band; I plan on checking out more.

Cool
this is a sweet album. I don't know much about LCD Soundsystem, I've only listened to that silver album before (it's really good too) but then I read some reviews and I bought this mostly because it was super cheap and people seemed to like it. Turns out it's super rad, 45:33 is a great song even though it's a little long (over 8 minutes!) and then Freak Out is hilarious and really good too even though it's also pretty long (also over 8 minutes!). Anyway this album is pretty good value and honestly how many good songs do you know that are over 45 minutes and 33 seconds? not many I bet. I rest my case.

Well worth it
If you are already aware of LCD soundsystem then you either already have this or are just taking the steps to get it. If you are new to LCD Soundsystem then you need to be aware of the followingthis is low fi electronic dance music with an emphasis on analogyou should probably listen to Sound of Silver first and if you like that then this is a no brainer!designed to be an electronic "symphony" 45:33 has several tracks that flow one into the other making it perfect for get togethers or just hanging out and taking in some good tunes

Well not really.Part one is really just a short introduction. Not really brilliant but a good addition to this piece. Part two stands out, soulful vocals and nice looped piano. Really quite mellow. Part three involves a lot more electronic instruments and includes some good bleeps and noises. Part four really builds on part three addidng funky electric piano and more synthersisers and some psychedelic vocals and nice bass. Part five is up tempo with lots of hi hats low vocoder parts and some nice brass. Part six brings it right back down and is really mellow with chimes and soft chords.A pretty good track to listen to that really builds up then comes right back down. Good work but nothing thats going to be called classic. Worth a listen because its an interesting piece but not some thing you'll find your self desperately wanting to play again and again. The bonus tracks are a nice addition. I didn't really enjoy the jittery Freak Out/Starry Eyes but North American Scum Dub is a brilliant track. Really funky sounds from the outset and it really gets going. Probably the best track on here. Hippie Priest Bum-Out is a standard dance punk track from LCD. Nice drums and percussion with a good bass line. Strange sounds all over the place. More like some thing from their first album.Buy this if you haven't heard the main track 45:33. The additional stuff is nice but if you get the chance buy it individualy as you will save the money. I'd say miss out Freak Out/Starry Eyes as its a waste of time in my opinion.

Classic LCD
LCD soundsystem is by far one of the most creative units in the biz. The album is great for a party soundtrack.
