Bought this for my "quarantine workout" program, and it's getting the job done!
Bought this jump rope because I need cardio badly. I'm one of those people that starts to plump up quick if I don't work out, and putting on belly fat can be very dangerous to my health. Anything I can do to keep my heart pumping well, and keep the belly fat off -- I will do! This jump rope is easy, compact, and stow-able -- so after this crisis is over, I can even see myself carrying this in my carry-on for hotel room workouts when traveling for business. I'd recommend it highly. Only downside is when doing it barefoot, if you get wacked in the toe it will hurt like a son of a gun! LOL. Wear shoes.

A decent rope for advanced skills
This is a good jump rope and a good value for the money. It's made well and easy to adjust based on your height with the little twist screws. I love the color and feel of it and it keeps it's shape (I don't see the rope part bending or creasing). My only complaint is that it REALLY hurts when you hit yourself with it because of the weight of the rope (I'd consider myself decent at jumping - not a novice but not a pro). In one respect, the weight of it is good because it gets around quick and it keeps its shape (vs. super lightweight ones that "fall" when they go over your head), but beware if you catch the back of your arms or legs - it will definitely leave a mark....or two. I am going to keep this but I don't think I would purchase it again.

Good rope, broke within a few months though
The jump rope it self is very nice and the bearings inside are very smooth. I used it with no issue for a few months, but as time passes, the rope part actually started to fray until finally the rope broke in half. I tried to fix the frayed rope with duct tape, but it still broke. It’s a nice rope, but the durability is lacking.

not a good design for a jump rope
Don't buy. Fundamental flaws make this a bad jump rope. First, using a wire cable for the rope is a bad idea because when a wire travels fast it hurts whatever it hits. Get one with an actual rope instead. Second, using a wire for a rope is a bad idea because it has little resistance to the air. The idea of a jump rope is exercise. You don't get exercise when something is too easy. Get one with an actual rope because it will have slightly more resistance=Better. Third, using a wire for a jump rope is bad because it's not very flexible, with the result is it doesn't turn well on the handles. Finally, aluminum handles are bad because they are less comfortable than wood and are too thin. This Jump Rope is bad in every possible way. It's a terrible design. I recommend against buying this product.

Work great, plastic wore off 2nd use
Adjusts easily, high quality handles and it works well. The colored plastic wire coating where the wire skims the ground wore off after 2nd use. Luckily it doesnt seem to effect its operation.

it works when it is new
after the outside PVC is worn out, the inside metal wire can be very sharp and hurt you by scratching your skin.you will notice PVC worn out in a couple months.not a safe product.

Great for my at-home crossfit workouts
I needed a jump rope to use with my at home workouts for my Crossfit gym. This one was perfect. Not ready to commit to something weighted. Price was great.

Broke within the first few uses!
I'm extremely disappointed in the quality of this jump rope. I normally put my trust in the quality of Amazon Basics products as the majority of them have worked well in my experience, but this jump rope broke within the first few uses (< 5). The nub at the end of the rope came off while I was jump roping along with the metal pieces that held the rope in place. I would consider asking for a replacement but I'm not sure how long that would hold up either.

Quarantine
Treadmill broke mid quarantine. This skipping rope saved me, in fact I burn more skipping than I do running! Works great for a “basics” skipping rope. You can adjust it to your height. The only complaint I have is when I accidentally hit myself. It kills!

Crap
It doesn't get 1 star because maybe this just isn't my type of rope. The swivel mechanism was jammed when it arrived, but I fixed it. I will probably try replacing the wire with something heavier. The skipping ropes you can buy for a couple of pounds are better than this one.

Great option for lockdown
Purchased during lock-down and has been a life saver (not literally) great for using in the garden for when the usual exercise options are not available.

Fast and Furious time cutter
Update: there are no ball bearings or anything. It’s just a simple mechanism with a screw holding it at the top. After good enough time of usage one of the handle’s screw kept on coming loose, the solution or fix turned out pretty easy, because of the way the screw turned - all I had to do was hold the problematic handle in my left hand and the screw will stay intact (marked the handle with a small sticker).I still rate this product high as the time saved, price and overall quality is still good, the solution to the problem is a simple one.—————————-Original review:First impression: Just wow!!Today is the first time I used it and it cut my time in Exactly half. I am impressed at the speed with which I can control it (did not push for full speed rev as today being the first day).Owing to the thin diameter of the wire when you do a miss-skip the bite is stingingly sharp on calf muscles. The ball bearing inside the handles seems to be rust prone(picked up from other reviewers). To compensate for the same, I dropped few (bike chain) oil drops at the top of the handle. This a 1 day usage review(7500 skips in total). If any issue comes up in the coming days I will update this review.

Not what I expected
Cannot cut it with scissors. I had to use a hammer and chisel. It’s still too long but it was such a huge effort to cut it the first time that I haven’t wanted to do it again. Also the piece of rubber covering the wire was damaged and now won’t go over the wire.
