**A Singers Must-Have**
I very rarely write reviews, but this product solves such a unique issue in my life and I’m so happy haha. I’m a “professional” singer and I regularly use vocal steamers for general localized hydration. This kind of thing really helps with post nasal drip, sickness, dryness, etc. Emphasis on sickness, as a singer. But, the issue I have with other steamers, like the Vicks Nasal Steamer, is that you have to plug them in. But worse than that, it takes a few minutes to actually get going. Minutes you often don’t have. There have been times when I’ve been sick, struggling to sing a show and you go on break seeking some relief. You’re there with no available outlet, at least not in private, and you have no time to wait for a traditional steamer to warm up. It’s literally the perfect solution.I will probably continue to use the old fashioned steamers at home, as they put out much more steam than this one. But there are literally no other battery powered, instantaneously working steamers like this. And while this steamer doesn’t put out the same amount of steam as other steamers, it certainly puts out enough for regular use. The battery generally lasts for one or two sessions. I can’t speak on durability and reliability yet. Also, just to comment on some other reviews I read prior to purchasing:1. It’s not too heavy or too big, it’s quite small and surprisingly light.2. My unit had no mildew smell to it, like one other reviewer commented.3. And as for those complaining about “having” purchasing the branded sterile water - just buy a plastic syringe and use your own sterile water from the grocery store. For those unaware, the water is inserted into a small slot on the back. Which could be annoying, but for longevity sake, I like it. I imagine that refill system causes less bacteria build up, but that’s just me speculating.

Stopped Working After Less Than 2 Weeks and Very Expensive
I live in a seasonally dry climate and have sinus problems so I thought this could be a solution for me. It seemed to be effective and worthwhile for that purpose. However, it stopped working after less than 2 weeks of their recommended use. It began to shut itself off shortly after turning itself on due to a lack of power and appeared to be shorting out or simply lacked the energy to power up and would not recharge. In addition, there is nothing *free* about this product as shown in its description because it had to be plugged in to be recharged after each use while it was working, and it is awkward and heavy to hold for 15 minutes, because there is no neck harness as had been provided with the original model (It has the same battery pack size as a cordless electric drill, the difference being that the drill battery retains its charge much longer than a single use). There is also nothing financially free about this item because it is 50 percent more expensive than their original model, but unlike their original, you cannot use distilled water with this product, only their very expensive vials of their special water and they appear to be the only ones designed to fit into the input of the purifier. In other words, you have to buy replacements from them.I have also since found out that there are other similar items available on Amazon, at least one of which is a well known brand name, at a much lower price. These unfortunately did not appear when I purchased the product because I searched for this specific product by name pursuant to a TV Ad for this product.

Good Purchase
As a professional singer, this has saved my vocal chords. I love what it does, however it's kinda loud and the battery doesn't last more than 5 uses, which can suck if you have multiple shows back to back and need to steam. Always keep your charger handy and remember to charge after use. When you first get it, you'll want to start on a low setting or else you will burn your nostrils. Easy to use, kinda big.

Great remedy for stuffy head and hoarse throat
Really great for stuffy nose and scratchy/hoarse throat! Easy to use especially when you don’t have time to sit for awhile in a steamy shower! Small and easy to take along with you on long or short trips

Lower Steam mode is really strong, not suitable for children or sensitive skin/face/nose individuals
General Quality of product is good. But the Lowest steam level is really hot for me and hurst my nostrils almost to the point of burning. Apparently isn’t returnable….Factory company is requesting a return pre- paid label on my behalf. Their customer service is really good.

Ease of use
Expensive but worth it. It’s convenient to use because I’m not tied down to any particular location. I charge it in the kitchen and use it in the livingroom sitting in my recliner.

Cannot recommend this one
I bought the plug-in one and that seemed to work OK until one of my caregivers dropped it and it started to leak water. Then I bought this particular model, which is a rechargeable one that you don’t have to use while it’s plugged in. It worked OK for a couple of months, but tended to peeter out after that period of time. It never lasted 30 minutes. It would go 20 to 22 minutes at times but it never lasted for a full half hour and now that it’s down to seven minutes after a full charge we’ve decided to return it because it just doesn’t work well. maybe the company has not perfected, the battery charging component with this particular model as it also heats up horribly when it’s in use. my mom had to use it sometimes while wearing mittens or something so it wouldn’t burn her hands. For the money we paid it’s definitely not worth it or a good investment. We might go back to the plug-in model and see if that works better for us and hopefully it won’t get dropped again.
