Good sock, well constructed! Thick material and welded construction. I would suggest a really good rinse before introducing into you aquarium...we saw small particulates floating around our tank for over 24hrs!We are using this for our 75gal planted aquarium, and it needs rinsing roughly every 5-7days. I may choose the 50 microns next time. It doesn't require washing with bleach as most people suggest, that will only quicken potential wear and tear...just carefully turn sock inside out, and use the jet rinse on your garden hose! It takes me less than 5 minutes to remove stuck on detritus. No, it's not perfectly white, but what's the point of disenfecting the bag when you are taking the risk of introducing chemicals into your tank! Would certainly buy again.

I've been teaching myself how to use a sump filtration system the hard way. After a couple of years, my sump had developed a layer of brown silt that would pour into the aquarium any time it was disturbed. I was doing it wrong. I added one of these and cycled the sump through itself (bypassing the aquarium) and cleaned up all the silt. I had to pull the sock and clean it half a dozen times in one day. I've been running the system normally for a day now and the water looks amazing.

The 10 micron was a great fit. The 1 micro. Has a different size plastic ring. It’s not 7in. Closer to 6 3/4 so it doesn’t make a tight fit. Both were higher quality filter socks. Disappointed the 1 micron wasn’t 7in.

I used this to help clean my gravel and catch any gravel so it does not get thrown out with the dirty water. Worked great for that. Highly reccommended.

I got the 1 micron, clogged quickly as expected. Threw the wash and clean again, little bit of normal bleach.Last 3-4 days before I need to clean again, get a bigger micron if you don't want to clean as often

So ignore my opinion.
