I got my Realistic Still Life in Colored Pencils yesterday and the artwork is absolutely beautiful! This is a well written instructional book by an amazing artist. There are so many helpful tips in this book and the step by step projects are easy to follow! I highly recommended it for any skill level.

Finally a drawing book that has pretty clear instructions! . I have ADD so I'm hopeless at following "How To" guides but this one has big , full color pics & while I still get a bit confused at times, I've been able to draw some fairly decent still lifes from it. ( As u can see) I Recomend this book for more intermidate artist but beginners can certainly give it a try as well👍

While Cynthia Knox is undoubtedly a very talented artist, the demonstrations in this book are very hard to follow and are of exceptionally difficult subjects. This book is definitely not for beginners.

Good instruction but you need the materials listed in the book to get nice results.

This is a wonderful book and very thoroughly explains its subject. I am excited to use it as a reference book.

Cynthia has a very easy and likeable approach in her online courses and that same feel is present in this excellent tutorial book. Nothing is left out, the fundamentals are economically laid out not taking up too much room so that we can focus on the projects which are beautifully and intuitively laid out. The lessons build in complexity allowing the student to apply new skills learnt from the preceding lesson. My favourite being the cover piece a ravishing bouquet of chunky sunflowers. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned artistic curmudgeon like me you are going to get great value from Knox’s wonderful tutorial.

I was looking for a book to sharpen up some of my pencil skills. This one seems to be something I can use for that. She works on matboard, which I don't use but I think I can probably still get quite a lot out of it. Its nicely written, lots of photos and well detailed instruction, so I think its good overall.

Cynthia Knox is a rare commodity....she is a brilliant artist and knows how to pass on her knowledge without confusing by “ over teaching”.The instructions in this book are easy to follow and with a reasonable amount of application can be mastered, even by a relative novice. Highly recommended!
