Dog Muzzle, Breathable Basket Muzzles for Small, Medium, Large and X-Large Dogs, Stop Biting, Barking and Chewing (L - Springer Spaniel, Black)

Bought this muzzle because the ones in the pet stores are fully closed on the ends and this one will allow her to still drink water. She will be wearing it a lot because we now also have a 1 year old female and the two have started fighting to be the Alpha girl. We like the construction and the features all at a good price. However even measuring the size we bought it is one size too large, but they have a great exchange policy. We did follow the recommendations for our Minature American Shepard, but it is a little tall by her eyes and generally loose around her muzzle. If we were to suggest anything it would be using a larger buckle so our fingers can unsnap it easier

I use the measurements they gave me It shows a Doberman in a picture but my 2-year-old Doberman is even a little big but this was way too big for his face his muzzle per se and he just chewed it off of himself in 5 minutes in the car right behind me like it was a chew toy this wouldn't stop a poodle from chewing bubble gum nor would it prevent biting it's just a worthless product needs to be redesigned

For the price, this muzzle is awesome and came highly recommended! My dog did not protest but I only gave it 3 out of five stars though because the sizing is misleading and I have to now wait for the next size. I ordered a size Large thinking the measurements were right for my dog. It was WAY tooo big (as you can see in the attached photo). And now I have to order the M. But I think this will be a good muzzle for muzzle training!

I’m editing my review from what I previously wrote. I figured out how to adjust the behind-the-ear strap so the between-the-eyes strap was in the correct spot. I’ve used it a couple of times since, and my dog has not yet figured out how to chew on it while wearing it. She has been able to slip it off though. The straps seem tight enough so I don’t know if it’s a sizing issue or if her head shape is just too streamlined. I might try to adjust it again before I give up trying to use it. I could see this working for other dogs though....I’m returning this. I got this because the photos showed it didn’t have a strap going between the eyes. It actually does have one. That would have been ok I guess, but it’s not adjustable as to where it meets the main strap in the back. If I adjust the main strap so that it fits my dog, the head strap is off center, over my dogs eye, which clearly won’t work. Also the rubbery basket feels weak. This might stop a dog from biting, but it’s so flexible the dog can lick and eat anything, and probably chew it if she leaned it against something.
