Is there a trick on how to open the arm part? I and my hubby has tried n tried. I don’t want to break it.

GRIP IT AND RIP IT! It will swing out from the bottom with an oversized pull. After I got mad enough to really pull it out, it works and didn't break.

Does this take fiskars replacement blades?

Sorry, this paper cutter do not match fiskars replacement. We have our own blade and you can find it by search our brand.

A search for "Firbon Blade" on Amazon returns a 5-pack of Firbon replacement blades for $9.99.

Does this come with a blade or do they have to be bought separately?

The unit comes with a blade. The blade is long lasting; I've used the original blade for almost a year. Replacement blades re available.
