I did a lot of research in this lock before buying and the Ultion chat people were very helpful. If you are in Apple's ecosystem you have to decide if you want to use the Danalock app or Apple Homekit. I went the Homekit route, which means the Danalock app can only upgrade the firmware and lock/unlock the door, all other features are then via the Apple Home app, such as sharing with family etc... Siri works great, as do commands through iPhone, Apple Watch and HomePods, with extra security steps if you are unlocking. You also then have 3 options on how to unlock, via Home app, via Danalock app or with a key, so you should never be locked out! You get alerts on whatever device you tell Home to signal. Geofencing works, so you can auto unlock when you get home. Loads of options basically. Plus it was super easy to fit, literally 2 screws and a bit of click configuration using the prompt card that comes in the box. Was so impressed ordered a 2nd one direct from Ultion so that I could use the same key on the backdoor!

Amazing ! Wish I had installed this ages ago.If you set it up for geofencing it will open the door as you arrive so no lugging bags to put them down to open the door.Great feature is auto lock. If I forget to lock the door and believe me I do sometimes the system will auto lock after a certain time.Would highly recommend it. Go for the non Apple hone kit version unless you have Siri enabled kit around your house. This works with Alexa and is the cheaper version.

I ordered this smart lock and was so excited when it arrived. It looked sleek and shiny. Fitting was straightforward but that was the good part. Spent 4 hours trying to set it up. No instruction manual, only an A4 size card folded in half with small print. The instructions on it were minimal and so I struggled with them. All manuals are online according to the support website but I have no patience with downloading them and there were so many my head spun. The Danalock app downloaded quickly but was hard to navigate. In the end, when I pressed the lock icon on the phone , the spindle turned to the open position and when I tapped the open icon the spindle turned halfway and but did not lock. It started reading lock has jammed. Called customer support who got back to me late afternoon. Not very forthcoming and left me more confused than ever. There is a number on the card to call for someone to come in and set it all up for a cost of £95!! I also found that the features I was looking for like the door opening when you stepped into a certain zone in front of the door were not present on this one. They had not made it clear when I bought it. I’m sending it back and looking for another one. Very disappointed.

Fitting was ok no real problem operation very different.This is the scenario:Set the lock. Lock door when you go out door lock after say 15 seconds door is locked so if you go to the garbage bin the door will have locked itself and you need your phone to unlock, so yes you can set to 30min and you can then go outside to water the garden or anything else, however if you are going to the supermarket the door would be unlocked for 30 minutes before locking anyone could get into your house. So when you are going out you need your phone to lock the door or a key, so why have this lock in the first place it certainly is not very smart and its hard to see any use for it.

Bought the HomeKit version. Did not connect to HomeKit, did not connect to app. No instructions just long video’s showing how simple it is to connect. NEEDS WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS WITH TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE. Luckily got refund so stars given.

Please read previous reviews , a lot of money for not much working as per advertising, I wouldn’t recommend if you have iPhone 👎

This smart lock has potential but sadly I could not recommend after a few glitches with the app (as others have said, the auto unlock does not work on an iPhone) and then a complete failure of the unit to respond to either phone app or Danalock keypad leaving the family locked out of the house and calling around for a locksmith - not an easy process on a Sunday evening during a lockdown!Tech support was quick to acknowledge a faulty unit but cannot resolve a fix without my sending back the initial lock before they will ship a new one. Several weeks on they still have to resolve how to manage a refund and I am also still £100+ out of pocket for the locksmith given the department who could agree that refund is apparently on furlough (although sales department still seem to be taking money). Trusting your home security to a new system is a big decision and I would expect Ultion/Danalock to take the security and safety of its customers more seriously and we have decided not to continue until the both the product reliability and support infrastructure is much better established.

The App supplied by DANAlock will not find the Bluetooth signal when using an iPhone and then the app features are not operable, also the apple homekit app will not communicate other than to lock and unlock if you are stood at the door with your phone in your hand a swiping the screen, you are no better of than using a key. the app is downloaded from the app store an this is what they mean when they say it is 100% apple product.
