Scholastic Success with Reading and Math Jumbo Workbook Paperback – July 1, 2005

This book was a wonderful next step from this publisher's prek book. On alphabet pages it has several different skills for each letter. For instance, practicing writing upper and case, writing word that starts with the letter, drawing a picture of something that starts with the letter, then finally coloring items associated with the letter. It provides a lot of handwriting skills as well as phonics recognition. My son's favorite page is the counting. Counting pages are includes cutting and pasting to go with the number. It covers everything we need and is easy to go thru with him.

This book has been loved by my daughter who is five. I was using another book that was really focused for 1rst graders and thought it was good for my soon to be kindergartener. However when I received this book, it replaced the love for the other one. It is better suited for a five year old and means she enjoys learning. Because it is more appropriate for her age she finds more satisfaction when doing the pages by herself. She even pulls it out when friends are over and they will both sit for a good amount of time working on the different activities. Thanks a lot for the fast shipping.

The best overall kindergarten book I have ever purchased. It has topics that I never thought of that are very important. It is also somewhat advanced in some areas but that is a good thing.

Challenging and fun for my child about to enter Kindergarten. We like the handwriting portion (A-Z) for morning work. I think it would be too easy for a child who has already completed Kindergarten.

With 320 full-color pages, Reading & Math Jumbo Workbook: Grade K provides additional activities on alphabet, sight words, handwriting, phonics, numbers, shapes, and other topics necessary for kindergarten-level reading and math. Although some of the pages were a bit challenging, I like the variety offered by the workbook. The different sections provided many exercises that I had not seen in any other kindergarten reading or math workbook. I also appreciated the sections on test taking because my daughter needs to learn the skill for the future.

This book is a little bit challenging in spots for a child just beginning kindergarten but it introduces key concepts like differentiating between vowels and consonants, telling time, and counting money. Itd be a good book to refresh your childs memory the summer before first grade.

Great activity book. I purchased for my 4 yo & he has been so pleased with it. He works on it nearly ever my day.

Challenging and very well organized! Scholastic is a trusted name in education and this book measures up. The lessons can be easily torn from the book for easy completion. Added benefits include: an answer key, colorful images, cutting and pasting tasks, stickers and word flash cards. I strongly recommend this book to any parent/instructor who is looking to teach and reinforce basic kindergarten skills.
