Great Hob
Our hob stopped working so I needed a replacement quickly. I looked around at what was available and checked out the reviews and decided to give this "budget" hob a go.So glad I did! Very easy to install, no fuss, fitted and working straight away.It has two small rings and two large rings. It has touch control so no buttons to get in the way or gather dirt. The appliance comes on when you rest your finger on the "on" button for a few seconds. To turn on a ring you touch the ring button you require and then press the plus or minus sign. The buttons are extremely sensitive so if you put anything on them they sound an alarm. The ring symbol flashes while the ring is warm as a precaution.Great hob and fab price.

Great hob, great price
Replacement for my old, broken hob. Really good value for money. Heats quickly, versatile and responsive controls. Really love the lock function So easy yo apply but difficult to accidentally unlock! Each to clean and maintain

Very good hob
I'm quite happy with it, it heats up very quickly and the touch keypad is very simple and easy to use. The manual says there is a safety feature whereby you can lock the keypad by pressing the + and - buttons at the same time, and unlock it in the same fashion, however I found that this does not work and the only way to unlock it is to switch off the wall switch and switch it on again. I am wondering if this is actually a fault, or if they have modified the mode of operation since the manual was printed, which often happen with products. I would be interested to know if other customers have experienced the same.

Simple to install and use
Simple to install as a replacement for my old Hotpoint that broke from my carelessness. The spring tabs at the sides were too much so I just used them on the one side and it slotted down neatly. Simple to operate.

Great value, but difficult to clean (coming from a gas hob)
We recently switched from a gas hob, to electric and opted for this Noxton. It looks very sleek and was fairly easy to install (for a novice DIYer), however, there are a few points that make it less than ideal.Firstly, each ring only has one heat output, which is full power, and by setting the heat level to a low number, say 2 or 3, it simply comes on at full power for 5-6 seconds, and then switches off again for 20 seconds or so. Setting a hob to a high number, simply keeps the full power on for longer, before switching off and coming back on again shortly after. This means it's not ideal for any delicate sort of heating. Instead of being able to slowly simmer (as we could with our previous gas hob), it's just really intense heat for 5-6 seconds (causing everything to bubble and boil) and then it clicks off again for 20 seconds or so. Now, I'm not sure if this is how ALL electric hobs work and whilst I appreciate this is a cheap option, it's far less than ideal for any sort of precise heat control or delicate cooking.Secondly, (again - we're new to electric hobs and so perhaps this is an issue with all of them!) after you've finished cooking and switched everything off, the rings stay hot for AGES afterwards - roughly 15 mins after, they're still far too hot to place your hand on. The display will flash with an H to indicate that it's still hot and which one it is, however as the owner of a cat who sometimes likes to jump up on the side, this is a concern for us. So we've had to resort to filling a pan with water and placing it back on the hob after use (to stop the pan burning, and to keep it covered while the heat disperses). Finally, although the supplied scrapping tool was fairly useful to begin with, cleaning the hob is becoming more of an issue after a few months, with some stains proving VERY tough to remove. Even a little water on the bottom of your pan can leave a burn mark that takes some serious scrubbing/scraping to remove. All that being said, this was a very cheap option, was fairly easy to install and looks nice and modern. I think in future however, we'd go down the induction hob route, which while I'm sure comes with problems of its own, would eliminate all of the issues mentioned above!I'd give this 3.5 stars if I could, but I'll have to settle for 3 on this one.

Good looking hob, value for money
Good looking hob, easy to install, rings heat up very quick, but take very long time to cool down, which was confusing to a point that we even though the hob was connected wrong or faulty. After initially installing and testing each ring for a few seconds it took almost an hour for the hob to completely cool down and the H from each ring to disappear. Very easy to use, but will take some getting used to with heat levels.
