Modern Quantum Chemistry: Introduction to Advanced Electronic Structure Theory (Dover Books on Chemistry)

I've spent many hours over months studying this book. Extremely enlightening. Allow I received this book weeks ago the Amazon status is stuck on not delivered. As usual with big tech there's no way to correct this or communicate with Amazon at all with the only option to ding the innocent seller who fulfilled their side.

Great great great book for sophomore, junior students in chemistry to begin their journey in quantum chemistry. From basic algorithm, i.e. Hartree-Fock to advanced electron-correlation method, and ended up with Green function method, Szabo finds a fantastic way to organize various materials and illustrate mathmatics.

Look at the cover, haha. Some scientists were having fun in the 80s. If you want a good intro text in computational chemistry, this is it.

This is one hell of a book for advanced learners of quantum chemistry. Highly recommended.

I work in an electronic structure theory group the first thing anyone does when they join the group is read chapters 1-3 (and possibly work out the problems). The rest of the book might be worthwhile, but there are better, newer books available.

It's generally OK, but a little bit dirty inside. The cover looks old and has been used for a long while. But the book itself is very good. So I'm changing the rate to 4 stars for the excellent content.

This is a must read book for quantum chemistry. It is written in a clearly way, and it goes from the very basic to the complex approaches in a very progressively.

This is the best text to get you started with Hartree-Fock.

This book is really an excellent quantum chemistry book, I recommend it for any one wants to learn and study quantum chemistry.

Perfect introduction to Quantum Chemistry. Starts off with the basics about matrices and how to diagonalize them, Schrödingers equation and bra-ket notation, before proceeding to how Slater and Gaussian type orbitals are computed, HF/STO-3G, and finishes with split basis sets. With plenty of illustrative exercises.

This is one of the best books in quantum chemistry. One of the best services I have gotten.

Ho acquistato questo libro su consiglio del mio supervisore di laboratorio e devo dire che nonostante gli anni, è un'ottima risorsa. Il libro affronta gli argomenti in modo completo e chiaro. L'introduzione dedicata alla componente matematica è particolarmente utile per coloro che, come me, non hanno una formazione fisica di base. Questo libro è perfetto per coloro che cercano una spiegazione approfondita di alcuni dei concetti chiave nella moderna meccanica quantistica.
