The S&W 500 is not an everyday carry weapon. It is heavy and recoil is substantial, but with this holster and speed loaders it makes it all worth while for me. I have this same holster for my Glock 21 and love them both. Highly recommended!!

I carry a 500 mag while in the mountains. After getting stuck in a barn with an angry bull moose, a 44 just didn't seem to cut it. Luckily, the moose and I parted ways without injuries to either of us, but I have been trying to find a more comfortable way to carry my 4 inch 500 since then.I tried the chest rigs for a while, but if I am going to strap something across my chest, it might as well be a rifle. I have been carrying in a hip holster for a while now, but a sidearm of this size and weight isn't exactly suited to that. I even found a few shoulder holsters, but all for the much longer barreled models.Then I stumbled across this holster and gave it a try. I have never heard of the company, but a shoulder holster for my gun is not exactly easy to come by. The leather work is pretty good. It is not on par with galco, but about the level of bianchi, so perfectly adequate for my needs. I have worn the holster for a total of 24 hours so far without issue. The shoulder straps are roughly finished, and may need replacing over time, but the holster and speed loader pouches should last for years to come.The holster sits a little lower than a traditional shoulder holster rig, probably due to the size of the revolver. I prefer this, as it makes my draw a bit quicker. It may effect concealability, but that is not exactly what an x frame revolver is for. The speed loader pouches also sit low, which I don't prefer, but I can't really complain. This is the only 500 holster I have seen that has speed loader pouches, and that is much more convenient than the usual cartridge loops I see on x frame holster.Overall, I am pleased with the purchase. A shoulder holster is by far the most comfortable way for me to carry this gun. I took a risk buying from an unknown company, but am glad I did. Not only does the holster fit my gun well, I am also happy to have speed loader pouches. We will see how the shoulder harness holds up over time.P.s.The holster was shipped from Turkey, but made it to Colorado in 2 days. I guess Turkey has invented teleportation!
