One of the easiest ways to sharpen a knife!
This is the second one I've had. The first one got lost and I quickly replaced it. It did take a few tries to fully understand the instructions, but once that was done it's a very easy and fast way to sharpen a knife. I've even been able to quickly sharpen some blades that had little to no edge left. Granted, in most cases when an edge is completely gone, a traditional stone would be better to get the angle right. But this is small enough to carry in your pocket or bag for easy access and keep an edge razor sharp!

Best sharpener I’ve found
I’ve tried wet stones and “dual blade” sharpeners with little success. This sharpener is quick and easy after a bit of practice. It creates a bit of “chatter” on the blade but leaves the edge sharp. I give them out as gifts because they work.

Great sharpener
This little sharpener is so handy. The quality of this little thing is amazing and I wasn't sure it would do anything but it did amazing even with scissors.

Sharpens but possibly scratches.
It's a really good knife sharpener. I used it on my stainless steel knife and it has never been sharper. I can cut through cardboard and even hard plastic with minimal to almost no resistance. The only complaint is my dad used it and scratched his knife all to hell and he said it ruined his knife. But it worked fine for my knife and I personally love it. It's about the size of a small pen or sharpie and it has a nice smooth finish with a protective cover so you don't hurt yourself or scratch anything in your pockets when the sharpener is not in use

Speedy Sharp is the shit
I am a knife maker. I believe in the older ways of doing things. In my opinion nothing beats oil stones for the best quality edge. I'm not a huge fan of the steel rods found in many butcher block sets. Their main purpose it to straighten the edge of an already sharp knife. Then I found Speedy Sharp. Speedy is an understatement! The package says even lawnmower blades. It's true. My mower was leaving streaks. I flipped it over in the middle of the yard and a few strokes on each side left the blade razor sharp in just minutes. No disassembly, no grinders or balancing gizmos. No more streaks either.Unlike steels, Speedy Sharp can remove blade material rapidly like a grinder or a file. It can also be used like the steel to hone that fine edge for an aggressive cutting razor edge. This is a truly functioning tool for maintaining other functional cutting tools. This was not meant for that pretty wall hanging dagger with all the useless bobbles and designs that hurt you the user, but it will sharpen that junk too.I keep one in my pocket all the time. I've even used it for a little locksmithing too. The carbide is nearly indestructible, very interesting blend. A few passes on a coarse belt offered no spark at all and actually polished it back to a mirror finish.I've given away many of these because once I show someone what they do they absolutely have to have one. I buy them at least 4 at a time. Ace Hardware is where I bought my first one. It was on clearance. They have discontinued stocking them. For best price and fastest delivery go straight to Speedy Sharp on line.

Speedy Sharp
This is a great portable sharpener to have around. When camping or hiking I find using a knife for pretty much everything gets the blade a little dull. This very convenient tool fits nicely in a pocket and I have one in my camper. Sharpens and hones great

It works on pretty much everything
You must know the angles, hold 45 degrees and 10 degrees up and slide it along blade once you found the correct angle. Go from bottom to tip and to make it smooth, go reverse tip to bottom, do it lightly till you get the feel of it.for finish hold lightly and slide it on edge very light for finishing off sharpening. It works, but can make you have to put a whole new edge on knife if you press too hard or misuse it... watch videos on these type of sharpeners, they can sharpen anything almost. It peels the metal right off. They have others like this product, they work the same watch the videos on youtube on Handy Sharp. To me learning how to use this is like when I was a kid learning to use a sharpening steel, I am good at that and I got a razor sharp edge with this product here but mistakes happen, but that is why I said don't push down too hard unless you are putting a new edge on the knife, be slow and be careful with this and tools like it.
