Platinum Instant Sourdough Yeast - 5 Packets

I really like using these. It arrived nicely packaged and the expiration date is up in September of this year. I am sure it will all be used by then. This stuff is great, and if you follow the instructions correctly and a hint more of regular rapid rise yeast to your mix, it will come out great! I used about 1/2 tsp. to this mix and my loaf came out tasty and larger than my previous loaf with out adding to this. Try it, it helps! I will definitely buy more of these when needed! ordered 10 packets, ALL of them were dead yeast. Wasted lots of flour trying to bake bread that had no growth.If you order this, make sure the yeast is active first! take a teaspoon of sugar, a tsp of this yeast, warm water, mix together and let sit for ten minutes. If it doesn't rise significantly, the yeast is dead and you need to get your money back.Of course, I'm two days past the time I can get a refund. Just my luck.

Works very well but make sure to use it before it expires. I had some expire and it didn't rise well ...or at all. I added some active yeast to it and it did okay on the last packet. I've ordered this a couple times and will continue.

Practically out of date when I received it. Loaves that I made was very good made dough in my bread machine on dough cycle. Excellent rise, smell was wonderful. Texture was wonderful. Just disappointed in shelf life.

Sour bread taste and flavor without all the work. Just add it to your recipe Just like yeast. So fas so easy. I wish it was in a Jat so I can add more for a more intense flavor.

Head's up--do not buy if you want sourdough bread. I ordered this yeast, because I didn't have time to create my own sourdough starter. This is suppose to be like real sourdough bread--just add to any sourdough recipe--that's what it says. Don't be fooled. I actually made THREE sour dough breads thinking maybe one was bad--none of them turned out like sourdough bread. In fact, the sourdough bread I make with cheap yeast ($1 for a three pack) turned out better, and tasted more like sourdough bread than using this yeast. And, this was $15 for the packs.......very very disappointed! I would recommend you stick with your own yeast becuase obviously buying this "sourdough yeast" is not the same, nor is it better, and in fact is worse. The bread was so bad I tossed it all. Save your money!

Bread not the same texture as the starter dough. Will work if you need it fast, just not as good as the starter dough bread.
