Basic Math and Pre-Algebra: 1,001 Practice Problems For Dummies (+ Free Online Practice)

I have been away from math and done absolutely failure work in school years ago, and, wanting to understand how to do electronics equations, I found Algebra 1 was a little too advanced for me, so, I chose this and the workbook titles and they have immensely helped me understand math in a way I've never understood it. Great book as it takes what you learn in the workbook and gives you plenty of practice to solidify the knowledge you learn. I would definitely recommend this book and the Workbook for anyone wanting and struggling to learn Algebra.

In case you don't know what Dyscalculia is, it's a math disability that interferes with your ability to retain information related to math. This book is written in a way to help you understand. It explains it in a way that helps you retain the information. Not to mention, there's lots of humor which helps break up math anxiety. I would definitely recommend this book. I don't feel so out of the loop when it comes to math, anymore.

Going back to school after 40 years is not easy!I knew I would never excel, let alone pass, any required college math courses without some help, which led to the purchase of this workbook.Love that there are so many problems in the book and online to solve.Love the way they go in order and progress from laughably easy to, "What are they asking?"Love that get to write all over a book ;)4 stars because my elderly brain has had a wee bit of trouble understanding some of the 'helps', and therefore some of the problems and had to Google more things than I would like.Overall, I give it an A-

I liked the description of how to solve the practice problem along with the answers. I am relearning Basic Math and Pre-algebra to help my great grandson and it's fun.

Study guide

First issue was trying to register this book so I could get some of the so called online benefits. The code given in the book did not work. So had to call company so I could register it. After about 45 minutes and about 6 hoops that I had to jump through I finally was able to register my book.What a huge disappointment I got when I looked at the online benefits given for my 45 minutes it took me to register. What you get online is nothing short of pure Crap, worthless.The book itself is also not really very helpful if someone is trying to refresh the basic math skills.Save your money and get an older text book.

This and accompanying for dummies math text books are the only go to source when it comes to improving, remembering, re-educating or catching up on your math skills.. Reading and working through these math text books has had a huge impact on my math skills. Zero to hero very possible with these for dummies books.. So easy to understand
