Doubler - 2 Valves on One Wire/Expand or Repair Your Irrigation System with Ease

Had a valve that would not turn on. I replaced the valve, replaced the solenoid, still not working. Switched hot wires with a different valve, the broken valve was now working, so I knew it was an electrical problem. But to run a new wire would be difficult and destroy a lot of landscaping. Googled around and found The Doubler. The sprinkler repair guy wanted $150 just to come out, so I thought I'd give this a try. It took me 10 minutes to install, and it ACTUALLY worked! Highly recommend The Doubler!

How can a small switching device be a good value when it costs over $100? This electronic device can save you hundreds of dollars if you have certain problems with your irrigation system. I had a sprinkler zone dysfunction because something caused the hot wire to go dead somewhere underground between the controller and the solenoid valve. I didn't have to try and find the problem in the 100 feet of underground wire because of the Doubler. I was fortunate to have another solenoid valve next to the one that needed a new source of electricity, and it had a functioning hot wire. I just hooked up the Doubler as instructed in the user manual and solved the problem, saving hundreds of dollars in troubleshooting or placing a new hot wire for 100 feet underground. You could also use this device to add another sprinkler zone to your system without laying long runs of wire to the new valve. It's worth every penny you will spend for it.

The product works as advertised. I have it installed using a Rachio wireless controller. My only complaint is when turning the zone on individually through the wireless app it gets confused between the two valves that are using the device and turns on the wrong valve. When cycling through the zones normally it works great.

Easier to install and lower cost than the competing Add-A-Zone product. However is is a bit wonky in getting the zones in proper sequence. They spell out the process in the instructions but I had to take a couple stabs at it to get the zones in proper sequence. Will probably be ordering more but I don’t know how long it will last. I’ve seen dozens of Add-A-Zones in the field and only one failed.....appeared to be very old as the appearance was waaaay different than the current model.

Did exactly what it was supposed to do. I wanted to split a zone into two. Thought I had enough wires, but it turns out the unused wire that I was planning on using was broken somewhere within the house walls. My options were to try this out or run a new cable on the outside of the house which would have been a huge hassle. This solution was very straight forward to install and the directions were accurate. It was more expensive than I maybe thought it should be, but considering the time it saved, it was well worth it.
