Good idea, but it's basically early beta
On the plus side, the service is free the 1st year and the unit is packaged very nicely and seems to be made with quality. The software however, is not even half baked. The software will tell you if your fuel is low, your check engine light is on or if your battery is low. I don't know about you, but that's not much for diagnostics. The software will tell you where your vehicle is at - IF the service is online, which at the time that I'm writing this, is not.The web site has a data download, but you can only download VERY basic info. Such as trip length, time and mileage. Can't download fuel used, or other data collected. It supports multiple vehicles, but you can't delete vehicles, application is incredibly clumsy. To do something simple like switching the vehicle viewed requires going to setup and modifying the viewed vehicle. While there is an Iphone app. It hasn't been updated months, and it even more basic the the basic half baked website.I suspect that Mojio is waiting for 3rd party developers to write their software. Problem is, none exist right now. It's a good thing the service is free the first year, otherwise I could be canceling and sending my units back.I think this will be a great device/service...eventually. But it's a long way away.UPDATELooks like mojio updated the app in the last few days. Unfortunately it's a very minor update on a couple usability items. Also I've noticed some bugs:1) If you use more than 32 gallons of fuel in a day, the counter rolls over back to zero. Not good for a long trip in a fuel inefficient vehicle (i.e. trucks, towing etc)2) It has a fixed speed alarm of 70 miles per hour. If you live in a state where the speed limited is 70, prepare to your notification logs filled with warnings about "bad driving". No you cannot set what you feel is a proper speed alarm.Overall, the more I use the product, I really really want to love it. But I can't. It's more of a vehicle data "kit". If you have the time and skills to write your own applications to gather the data, it's probably great. If intend to use the software that is provided for you, this is not the product for you.

Handy little device for the frequent traveler
UPDATE: I can no longer recommend this product, any product from Mojio, or rebranded products available from T-Mobile or others. I was a fan, however, I started noticing that a single device of mine quit working. I contacted support April 29th. I contacted them again May 15th. It wasn't until May 21st that I finally received a response. It staid "Thank you for your email. We appreciate your feedback and would like to take the opportunity to thank you for contributing to the continous improvement of our products and services."I replied again asking when I'd receive an actual response. July 3rd, I received this response:--Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us.First of all, we’d like to apologize for the issues you’ve been experiencing with our apps and the delay in our response. We’ve been going through significant strategic changes at the company and it’s caused the original Mojio experience to go stale for many of our early customers. Our product and engineering teams are working tirelessly to build the next generation of connected car experiences that will replace our original Mojio apps: Gauge, Cloak and Trek.At this point of time, there isn't much Mojio support can do to assist you. Hence I am going ahead and closing this ticket. Please wait to hear from Mojio in the coming months.--Basically, they told me they didn't care. I immediately replied in disgust and received no response. August 11th I sent another email telling them I could no longer recommend their products and would be going to their competitor. The response I received (the same day, surprisingly) was "Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us. Thanks from everyone at Mojio! We promise to provide you with more details about Mojio later in 2017. We can’t share specifics at this time but we think it will be worth the wait."Essentially, they don't care about their existing customers. I wanted to like the device, but their complete lack of support makes it impossible. If you can't support your existing customers then you have no business expanding. You need to fix your problems before you expand.ORIGINAL REVIEW:I really like this device so far. I've had for almost two months. The only real downside I see is how often it checks in. When I look at the maps it often shows me driving through fields. Obviously it just doesn't refresh its location often enough while moving.I travel for work, so I like using the Cloak app to notify me if my car starts or moves while I'm out of town. Last week it notified me that I might have a low battery when I got back to it. I was a bit more mentally prepared than if I didn't have that warning. I receive similar notifications for gas level (including if someone has siphoned gas while it sits in the parking lot for the week).I've got mine tied in with IFTTT to create logs of when and where I go and to note when it is plugged in. The timing can be a little off, but I think that is more of an IFTTT issue. It also ties in with my Amazon Echo, but I don't get much use out of that relationship. I'd love to see integration with SmartThings so I could use it as a presence sensor and/or an open/close sensor so I know if the car is running and can run SmartApps based on that.

Updated review: Gauge app now available.
**Updated review: As mentioned in the comment below the gauge 2.0 app is now available in the app store. This has given me a better idea of what the product can offer and I have changed my review to 4 stars. Overall I'm pleased with the device. That said, I do wish more data was available for download into the appropriate apps. Hopefully more apps and features will be available as time goes on.This device has great potential but so far I'm a bit disappointed. At the time of this review the Mojio Gauge app does not seem to exist anywhere in the iOS app store. Their website shows this app as being available for both iOS and Android but this does not seem to be the case. The Cloak and Trek app are available and seem to be decent (looking at update history its clear they are not frequently updated however). Its hard to know exactly what data I'm missing out on without the gauge app. The lack of the Gauge app is misleading and a bad first impression for me.I was hoping for extensive data and information but so far this device really seems to shine as a GPS tracker and that is about it. The only data I'm really finding is gas quantity, mileage, and battery status. Honestly I was expecting quite a bit more information. I bought two of these and will likely be returning one of them. I'll keep the other for the car I keep parked on the street in case it is stolen as the GPS info could be helpful.I'll update this if/when the gauge app is released and I have additional experience. First impression however is disappointing.
