Perfect cable for newer USB Type connectors
Worked perfectly. It was a hard item to find. The USB 3.2 Gen 1 connector Type E connector on Asus mainboards needed this connector in my specific case to adapt is back to a USB 3.2 Gen 1 header. I added a Media Card reader and since the case already used the USB 3.2 Gen 1 header port on the MB, had to convert the Type E to support the Media Card USB 3.2 Gen 1 Connector cable.

Cable connects ASUS USB3.1 Gen2 header to two USB3.1 Gen1 devices - Is not for USB3.1 Gen 2 use
I had to try ASUS Z370 MOBO's internal USB31G2_E3 internal connector - bottom line: not worth the effort, unless want more USB3.1 Gen 1 ports. The cable connects securely to the MOBO U31G2 header and connects to two USB3.1 Gen 1 devices. Cable does not take advantage of ASUS Gen 2 pins for CC1/CC2 and SB1/SU2.so really does not support USB 3.1 Gen 2. The cable is less than 12 inch in length, so just reaches front panel device. The cable was connected to a USB splitter cable and recognized two attached USB 3.1 thumb drives. Configured the BIOS for ASMedia front panel USB 3.1 Gen 2 (Enabled) and selected USB3.1 front panel instead of PCIeX1. Crystal Disk Mark speed test using the USB 3.1 Gen2 header and this cable gave same results for a USB 3.1 Gen 1 device, as expected. So if expecting USB3.1 Gen 2 performance from this cable - forget it! Cable does not take full advantage of the ASUS U31G2 connector, waiting for Gen 2 devices before trying a different cable.

It kind of works...
So I didn’t install this cable right out of bag, only because I’m not really a fan of these third party cables, but since this tech is more on the cutting edge of tech I figured I’d give it a shot. Well... I gave it a shot and my results are shotty at best and I will give my evidence as such.Currently am running a ASUS z270i and routed the front USB 3.0 ports (2 total) to this and now only one works. Previously confirmed that both ports were working on a downgraded USB 2.0 connection.Granted, it did work immediately once I had the cable hooked up so at least the connection was there. It just wasn’t 100%. Now I’m no expert, but this is very, very first gen tech so I just see that this as opportunity to work out the bugs and get some second gen cables going that work flawlessly.all in all. One star... I get more reliable connections with less chance of data corruption with my downgraded ports... so much for cutting edge tech...****Updated after I realized that I had to update my USB drivers...*****

Works as intended.
This works as it should. Been using for months. Does charge on the slower side.

Just what I needed.
The media could not be loaded. The front USB 3.0 port on my Antec case was not working due to a mangled pin connectors on the motherboard. Luckily all I needed was this adapter to gain functionality. Install took a hot 2 seconds and a restart and the port was working fine. I bought this for ONLY ONE port so I cannot attest to it working for more than one. Works great with no complaints. Would buy again.
