A slice of cake, a cookie or a donut is about as heavy as you can go. I wouldn't use it for anything heaver. I use them for cat food.

Usually it's Amazon who has the product in their warehouse and does the shipping. I wouldn't yell at the seller about that (especially on a Q&A platform)

Are these sturdy enough to hold wet cat food that has some liquid in it like some of the juicier ones?

That would depend on how much wet cat food you put on it. If it's a half or whole can, you better get it on the floor before the plate flops. So, I'd say no, they aren't sturdy enough.
