I use an android phone for GPS and this backup camera. If a WiFi network is nearby the android will not automatically connect. My iPhone that I use for everything else connects quickly and automatically. I use two phones to get rid of the temptation to text and drive. I don’t take texts or calls on the android.

Trash, don't even bother wasting your time or money on this thing. If you are old enough, think about the camera quality on your first flip phone. This is worse than that.If you want to spend 4-5 minutes while you fumble through menus on your device to see what's behind you before backing up then this is for you. Otherwise all of it is useless. Nothing is automatic. Here's what you have to do to use this as a backup camera.1. Put your vehicle in reverse2. Tap your phone or tablet screen to wake it up3. Open the settings4. Turn on wifi5. Manually select the camera to connect to it.6. Close settings7. Open the app8. Click on the backup camera9. Wait 15-20 seconds for it to connect (if it ever does)It's just bad. Avoid this thing and find something else. I'd give negative stars if I could.

Installed the camera in my 2001 Tundra. The backup camera has its own wifi which works well. My iphone has no problem connecting to the camera. Image quality is great.Going to put my old ipad mini into the truck and use the ipad instead of iphone. Bigger screen….

I was really excited about this unit for my camper, but after spending the time and effort to install it would never connect. Waste of money.
