Easy strop
Great product, easy to use and really effective. First rate.

Great for honing your cutting tools and knives.
Quality materials are used in the construction of the Sharpal stroppingblock, Maple wood, Non Slip rubber foot pads and thick Vegetable Tan leather. Using some double sided adhesive tape I've added a piece of 1200 grit emery paper to the underside with which to take out any slight nicks or chips in the blades edge, it works well and is a useful addition to the block so please feel free to add this yourself. Highly recommended.

Good for a finely honed edge.
Great for refining an edge on your chisels or plane blades. The leather strop is stuck to a beech block with a rubberised base to stop slippage in use, and it comes with a bar of chromium oxide polishing compound. The only downside I've found is that the leather cuts easily if you're not careful. Good value for money, handy size, and great for a razor sharp hone.

Second one so must be good
Needed a bench strop for high grit diamond spray compound - approx 16000 grit, purchased separately. But at this level you need a good strop and even leather, flat and ready to absorb pastes and compound sprays. I wouldn’t use the oxide bar included, but I’m a bit of a nerd and don’t like the waxy bars as they aren’t very consistent, however I do high end kitchen knives and hunting knives. For the average user the oxide is better than most green oxides. The strip is simply great for the money. One of the best I have bought as I make most of my strops myself.

Sturdy and precise, quality leather, decent price
This is a really nice strop. Not the cheapest, but by no means poor value at the roughly seventeen quid I paid. The veg-tan leather is thick, flat and even, the base is solid beech with rubber feet, and it fits nicely in the recess on the lid of a Sharpal 75x200mm diamond stone storage box.Like most of the reviewers, I bought this to use with a diamond polishing compound rather than the green waxy stropping compound it came with. I'm about to buy another to use with an even finer diamond compound. The back of it is nice and flat, so you could attach another bit of leather and make it double sided, though to retain the rubber feet, which stop it sliding around, you'd either need very thin leather or thicker feet.(I did actually try out the supplied green compound - a mix of aluminium and chromium oxides, apparently, in a waxy matrix - just as a polish on a rag, and I have to say it's more than adequate - I've no reason to think it wouldn't make a perfectly fine job of honing knives.)

Great strop
I have quite a few strops, but they were all either too rough, too thin, warped wooden base, poor leather, or just plain poor quality. Never be tempted to buy a strop because of its perceived low price! You get what you pay for! This is a very good size. Mine was nice leather stuck on a piece of good, flat wood. I used a good strop paste and was lovely at honing my blades to a razor’s edge very easily. Seller was punctual and the product just what I wanted. I really despise the buyers who give low star ratings because they don’t know how to use a strop. Don’t be put off by these numpties. It’s as good as you’re going to get unless you make your own.Edit: one year later this strop is now properly seasoned and I get ultra sharp blades from using this. Keep it flat when stowing away to prevent warping. A first class strop!

Great value!
Great value. Good quality construction and materials. This strop is impressively flat and smooth. The base is solid beech. The leather is thick with a tight nap. It works really well as a strop. My only reservations are with the green honing compound. There are better compounds available. Finally, the leather is a bit soft when new but it should develop a patina in use. Overall, this strop is great value. Recommended!
