Great, but...
It's important to know you CANNOT use paintbrushes with this stuff-- you have to squeeze out the paint from the bottles directly onto the glass-- AFTER you have used the leading liquid, and let IT dry!! And where do you find this information-- NOT on the bottles, but the Plaid website-- if you don't have access to a computer, you're going to be unhappy.

Perfect for Faux Stained Glass
These paints are great for creating a faux stained glass. I've used them on plexiglas and stuck the plexiglas onto windows using thick 3M double-sided tape, and I've painted directly on windows (see pics). I sprayed Krylon clear coat on the plexiglas projects, to hopefully keep the project from yellowing or weathering over time. But the paint is holding up fine on the window, after 2 1/2 years. From far away it looks like real stained glass. I like that it's temporary, so when I move out of this apartment it can be removed from the window if needed, and it is less expensive than taking up stained glass as a hobby.I've mixed colors to get different colors/shades and it's worked nicely. Try not to mix the paint too much, or you get more air bubbles. Some can be popped with a pin. I also tried mixing this paint with some acrylic, to get unique colors. But the acrylic paint is opaque (not translucent) so it's not the same effect. I used a paint brush or my finger to stipple the paint, or swirl the paint, to get neat textures. Also recommend using adhesive "leading" (same brand, Plaid Gallery Glass) and some of the liquid leading.I recommend testing small areas first, to see what the colors look like when dry. They do look different when wet vs. dry.

but this one has been the best so far
I used these to paint on an already installed window. I was afraid of the colors running down, but as long as I added a bit of texture (either by dabbing or applying in a circular motion) the colors stuck to the window without dripping down. I suggest using the paints without a brush, just apply the paint directly to the window from the nozzle of the tube. I've done several windows and tried one other product that had decent reviews, but this one has been the best so far. I would like to see a larger variety of colors in the future as these don't always mix well.

Creates the look of real stained glass windows
I've been using this paint for years. It's a great value and makes a beautiful window. My goal is always to make the painted window look like authentic, vintage stained glass. And that requires applying multiple layers of paint to each section, as well as texturing each layer in order to give dimension. Patience is a must. And, if you don't like to finished look. Just cut the disliked section out with a razor blade, peel it off and start over. I have completed many windows only to be dissatisfied with the finished product. So, I simply scraped the paint off with a razor blade.Cons:Most people don't understand that this paint is temporary. Depending on how sunny or cold your climate is, a window may last 5-20 years. Some colors (especially the Ruby Red color) will fade quickly in a sunny window. So, in a couple years you may need to cut out the faded section and apply new paint. Also, this paint should only be applied to an insulated, double-paned window. Winter frost and condensation can quickly wreak havoc on this product. And, while it's very durable it does not hold up to constant freeze/thaw or excessive condensation. Old, single-paned windows (at least in Minnesota where I live) are prone to winter frost, moisture and even Ice build-up on the INSIDE of the glass where your Gallery Glass paint is applied. After a few frosts , paint will begin to peel, crack and bubble at the bottom of the glass. Double-pane windows can still develop condensation, but not nearly as much as an old single-paned window. One last thing: Gallery Glass has been making this paint for years. While the colors are beautiful. I do wish that they would develop some new colors that better reflect the warm, muted, earth tones of REAL vintage stained glass. The bright, neon colors with glitter and shimmer are fine (If that's what your looking for) But, I always struggle to find colors that mix well to create that beautiful warm look of old glass. So, PLAID Gallery Glass if your listening, I've got some helpful suggestions for you. Hit me up!

Good set
The white, purple, brown, and green dried pretty light. I had to go back and do a second coat. I did mess up and it's easy to wipe when wet or peel when dry.

... product yesterday and I can truly say that it's better than I expected
I just used this product yesterday and I can truly say that it's better than I expected. It doesn't run and the final colors are beautiful. I wish they made this product water resistant or water proof. I finished two glass canisters that look like they're stain glass now. I love it!!! Very happy and will buy again.

I'm sure I just don't know what i'm doing but ...
I'm sure I just don't know what i'm doing but they didn't work for my purposes. Couldn't get a smooth, dark finish. Seemed very thin and difficult to apply evenly. Maybe with more practice. I'm keeping them around in case I can find another use for them.
