I wasn't sure the Stripology XL ruler would be worth the price. It's expensive. But I struggle with cutting strips and squares with just a rotary cutter and regular acrylic ruler, so I decided to give it a try. For the first time ever, I have stacks of squares for a rag quilt that are neat and uniform. Denim, flannel and cotton squares all look great and were easy to cut (4 layers of flannel and cotton, 2 layers of denim--could cut more with a larger rotary blade). The ruler doesn't shift around while cutting, and it's BIG--lots of squares with one "load". I got my entire quilt cut out in just a few hours. I foresee it being very useful for squaring up patchwork blocks, too. I LOVE this ruler and will be looking for more Creative Grids products in the future.

As we all do, I am getting older. Couple that with an eye problem that I hope will be corrected soon with surgery, and I find that accurate cutting is getting more difficult. It is intensely frustrating to waste fabric having to re-cut. With my very first use of the Stripology ruler I cut six 2” x WOF strips that were perfectly accurate. Thank you, thank you, thank you! The ruler comes with instructions for cutting strips, sub cutting the strips, cutting pieced strip units, squaring up blocks, and cutting diamonds and triangles. Is it a financial investment? You betcha. Will this ruler always hang on the wall of my sewing room? Double betcha!

Love this ruler. It is a game changer. Easy to use. No slippage. Perfect size for cutting quilting fabric. I found the ruler to be a very good quality. It is Easy to use. Before I spend $70 I read reviews, starting with the lowest rating. I try to investigate what customers found unsatisfactory about the product. Bad reviews listed poor packaging, flimsy and easy to splinter, crack and break also rotary cutter doesn't fit in the slots...I found none of this to be true. It came tightly wrapped in plastic in a box. The plastic is heavy duty same quality as fiskers plastic. The slots make it flexible so I do believe if not handled correctly it will break (I will store it in the box it came in). And as the directions specify use a 45mm rotary cutter.

LOVE THIS! One of the best purchases I made for sewing!!! When cutting fabric with a rotary cutter, the ruler I used to use would always shift (no matter how much I tried to keep it still). This guide makes it SO easy to cut SEVERAL pieces and they’re the exact same size!! It’s much easier to sew the pieces when they match up so well!!

I like grid ruler very much. I use an Accu Quilt system, as well, and in order to save on fabric for smaller pieces, it is sometimes necessary to sub cut pieces. This ruler makes it a lot faster to do that. My only complaint with the ruler is that sometimes it is rather difficult to get the rotary blade to go into the slot on the ruler, and, if you are not careful, you can damage the ruler, particularly at the beginning of the slot, by trying to get the rotary blade inserted. I still like the ruler and I am glad I have it. However, I do not feel I would pay that much for another one. I have the XL size and it is a bit flimsy because it is so big. Final note is that I really like having the white and black lines to line up the ruler on either dark or light fabrics.

Purchased this item as a gift for a quilter friend. He mentioned he loves it, the print is readable, and those not slip on the fabric while cutting the fabric pieces

Great product for cutting quilt squares makes it easier
