I have a 2001 Audi A8 with the 4.2L engine. This fit perfectly and the price was better than anywhere else I looked for the parts this provides.

Works perfect for a 40 valve engine.
This bar comes with everything to set the timing in a V8 40 valve engine. I was shocked to open up the box and find the tensioner tools as well as a stout support bar. The bar is 1/4" thick with the proper sized dowels. If you had to alter this bar in any way either you can't read and bought the incorrect one or you simply shouldn't be working on your own car.

the tool fit our customers 2004 toureg 4.2 v8 like a glove. great price, great tools, quick shipment. would buy again if needed!!

Junk.
Does not fit at all, their tolerances are off by several millimeters, or they just don't QC anything. Crank lock fits just fine, but the cam lock is only good for the scrap dumpster. Do not buy this.

Only for v8 engines!!
This worked perfect for timing the v8 engines. It was not designed for the 2.8/2.7t. Those require a different timing bar. All the bad reviews are of people buying the wrong timing bar for their v6 engines.

I haven't gotten to use the tool yet but i looks sturdy enough. I was wondering why there is no branding on tool like in the picture. i will update as soon as i use the tool. hopefully by friday

TOO WIDE
I had to cut this and weld it back together I just wonted to put these pictures on here im lucky and could fix it but you my not have the same ability to cut it and make it fit like I did.They may have made 9 million that fit just wonted everyone to no mine did not fit blow up the pictures and you will see thanks James
