Exactly what I needed
I needed to set some new decking in with face applied screws, set to a depth that could be covered with matching plugs. This bit worked like a charm, and functioned very well. I installed Moisture Shield decking in a Catalina color and used the recommended plugs. I don't know why but several local places in my area that sold the decking I used didn't carry this bit in stock. So thankfully I could get it from Amazon.

Good for DIY projects
First time using a Pro-Plug tool and had no issues. The two bits indicate one is for fascia and the other is for deck boards. But after a few uses, the colored bands indicating which is which came off and then I couldn't tell one from the other. It didn't affect me because I was using Trex white fascia which is just as thick as the deck board, but won't know how to differentiate the bits when I use a thinner fascia.I see other reviews saying how it wears out etc. Well it is a bit and it will wear out like any other bit, so seems that should be expected. It worked well for me and even if I have to buy another one for my next deck it's worth it, as it sets the right depth for the plugs just about every time.

If you need it, get it. It works.
If you're face screwing PVC decking boards, this tool does the job. After it drives the screw just the right distance, it disengages. The screw heads are not damaged and can be unscrewed once you pull the bit out of the tool and put it in a standard bit holder. The screw heads leave a small hole that is just the right size for the plugs (purchased separately) to be driven flush and hide the hole.I had no trouble with the tool. The directions did mention if you're pulling out the bit (or putting it in) rotating it slightly helps it seat. This is accurate.

Must have tool
If your installing Trex or any other composite decking and using hidden fasteners, this is necessary. It was quick and easy, no marring on the deck finished surface.

Last 90 screws. NOT GOOD
It lasted about 80-90 screws then broke. The release mechanism consists or 3 small ball bearings and 1 of them sheared off as you can see in the picture. I have a second one that I disassembled and put wheel bearing grease in. I’m curious if it will help. If so I’ll update this. It’s a REALLY BAD design.
