Two thumbs up!
This is one of the best cryptogram books I have come across in a long time and I have been doing cryptograms for over 20 years. What I like is that the quotes use words that are everyday words but yet words that are not usually found in cryptograms which make the puzzles challenging. For an example, usually something like "IRR" would be "see" or "too" or "off" but in one of these puzzles it was "ebb" which delightfully caught me off guard. I am only 20 puzzles in but I am looking forward to completing this book.

Great quotes
This is one of the most enjoyable cryptogram books I've done. I do wish it came spiral bound. I go to the expense of having my cryptogram books spiral bound at Staples. It cost around $6. Doing the puzzles in a book that is not spiral bound is frustrating. I love doing cryptograms, and want to enjoy doing them. I included a picture of my two favorite Cryptogram books - spiral bound.

Fun but contains errors.
I'm a big fan of cryptograms so I appreciate this book, despite the errors, but I've found at least three so far (I'm on page 59 of a 94-page book) and these cannot go without being remarked upon. Two of these are errors from the book itself. Isaac (as in Isaac Newton) is misspelled as "Issac" in the solution; in another puzzle, there is a "then" where there should be a "than". The third error, curiously, seems to come from the original quote itself, which reads, "It is one thing to use text to illustrate a point one us making, but quite another to quote merely to demonstrate the excellence of one's memory." Unless I am missing something (a joke, perhaps, that I don't get), "us" in this quote should be "is". The quote is from Gore Vidal, who I wouldn't expect to have made such an error but I've searched the quote online and it turns up the same everywhere, i.e. with "us" instead of "is". But, regardless of who made the error, the "us" in this quote is misleading, so either the puzzle should have been corrected or omitted.I looked for a contact address on the website to where I can send a message pointing out these errors out but there doesn't seem to be any.

Quotes not challenging
I have found that quotations, by their very nature, are not challenging tosolve. Too many common words in all of them. Through 120 puzzles, havenot had to use any of the hints. Delightful quotes, though...

Highly recommend. Best collection I've found.
This is the best cryptograms book I've found. The puzzles are quotes from a wide variety of people like Isaac Newton, Al Capone, Mr. T, Vincent Van Gogh, Jay Leno and Aristotle. None are preachy or full of stale husband and wife jokes. They also contain "unusual" words. For example: cobwebs, promenade, tickle, cholesterol. I like this aspect because it's harder to guess the word with only a few letters solved. The type is large enough and there's plenty of room between words and letters. My only complaint is that it isn't spiral bound. I prefer puzzle books to lie flat.

Letter Spacing Too Close
I have been doing cryptogams for 30 years. I have purchased many books of cryptograms and have worked thousands of puzzles. This book contains 269 cryptograms--a good number. I like that there are a fairly large number of shorter more challenging cryptograms compared to other books of puzzles I have worked. Some books contain a large number of long cryptograms which are "no brainers".The letter font of the cryptoquotes is sufficiently large and so is the line spacing. Unfortunately the letter spacing is tight. Those who work cryptograms will immediately see that it is not easy to write the substitute letters above the ones in the book. The substitute letters tend to get jumbled together making it more difficult to solve the puzzle. It is especially difficult to work the puzzles on an airplane when the hand isn't steady.

Good challenge
This book of cryptograms is very, very good. I feel it has all levels of challenge and I enjoy the quotes very much. In fact I tend to look up the authors to read about them, so it has been educational as well. The paperback style does not bother me. Plenty of room to write above the puzzle (which is my preferred method). After looking at quite a few others, I selected this one and am very glad I did. I highly recommend.

Small size book
Have finished solving all the puzzles in this smaller sized book, with of course had smaller print. Worked on the puzzles as I sat in waiting rooms for appointments. Fit perfectly in my handbag, which is why I purchased it.
