COMTRENDG.hn 1.2 Gbps Powerline Ethernet Bridge Adapter 1-Unit PG-9172

I own three of these devices(bought a 2 pack, then onemore) and they have worked wonderfuly. I cant get a solid wifi connection in the basement room where I do my gaming and livestreaming, and these deliver a solid wired internet connection to my PC and Steam Link without any issues. Literally plug and play. Ive gotten no slowness on my PC and my Steam Link streams games at 1080p flawlessly from my PC with another one I have it hooked to. Definitely recommended as a cheap yet very effective means of getting a wired connection to a place far away from your modem/router.

If you need a powerline solution look no further. I have this paired with their PoE version on the other end and it works incredibly well. Powerline in general isn't always reliable and to add PoE capabilities, it just makes things tougher. I had initially gone with another brand (which used the more common Homeplug AV2 spec) and had 5-10 drops each day per camera. Determined to find a more reliable solution, I went with Comtrend in order to try the G.hn technology. Its been 2 weeks with zero drops (recording 24x7 x 3 cameras). I have been very impressed with the stability of this technogy. The only thing I would say is that set up can be easy if you just plug them in and use the config button to enable security. Once you attempt to log into the UI to manage the device (which is actually pretty neat because it's configurable like a managed switch) you open yourself up to lots of settings that can easily complicate your installation and drag out the installation time.

I bought a kit of these to go with this individual one. One of the two in the kit would not connect to the others, so I had to send the kit back and wait for a replacement. Then when I got that in, the two kit units worked, but then the individual one didn't connect. After having to call the manufacturer twice, each time the first person to answer didn't know a thing about their products, I finally managed to get a more experienced tech to call me. Even he didn't know that the "pairing" button was also the "reset" button, and this is not indicated anywhere in the manual/documentation, nor online. He first thought the power saving button doubled as the reset button. Anyway, after resetting the individual unit, I was able to pair it up with the replacement kit I ordered.That said, the units work well with plenty of speed, but they get HOT! I tried activating the power saving feature, but I can't seem to get it to function. I'll keep working at it though.If the company would have simply mentioned the reset button in the documentation, I could have resolved the connection issue myself. Sure would save their techs a lot of time on the phone!

I purchased this adapter based on my solar provider telling me it was what I needed. I had it unopened and unused when my solar service person arrived. They were delayed by two weeks as a result of unprecedented weather emergencies my entire stated endured. When he finally arrived and installed the adapter, it wasn't working or wasn't appropriately transmitting a signal. He had to provide an adapter from the company, and it cost me $65. I went to return this item immediately and the seller told me I was "outside the return window" with no empathy or consideration for the state of emergency my entire community went through. It was national news, as power was out, we were covered in snow, with no ability to receive services. I find this very unprofessional, unaccommodating and inflexible. DO NOT use this seller!!

At first I was skeptical about any power line adapters ! But after extensive research I found the contend pg-9172 g.hn adapters to be very responsive , fast , and very easy to set-up !! I watch a lot of streaming movies and game elder scrolls and black ops 3 without any lag whatsoever I mean nothing !!! And I have a total of 4 adapters throughout my 2400 sq ft home and I am totaly happy with my purchase and quality of this product !! Say goodbye to spotty wireless !!

This product was a breeze to setup, works fabtacstially. Now have them for both bedrooms in my house as the WiFi signal is week back there. I use the one in my office for online gaming and it works perfectly.

My Wifi was always suspect so I finally decided to give this a try. I watch TV over internet and I've got my Alexa Fire Cube connected to this downstairs. The router is upstairs connected to a unit up there. Zoomy and damn reliable!

It works for my upstairs computer, but not for my downstairs computer. I have spoken with tech support and they can't figure it out either. I am working to see if they will replace them and see if it's just a faulty item. It has increased the reliable connectivity for our upstairs computer greatly.
