Razor sharp knife will slice through meat with ease
I needed a new knife and saw this one and liked the name. -sharks have sharp teeth right?I am very very impressed. It is razor sharp. I took a video to show how sharp it is.The balance is really great. Slightly heavy so you can feel it when holding it.Lovely knife. I cut some pepper water thin, chicken perfectly etc.If you need a good sharp knife look no further

Very sharp knife
This knife is extremely sharp! It can cut almost everything. The tomato is the biggest challenge. I consider a knife perfect, if it's able to cut a tomato without damaging it. I think the best part of this knife is still the handle. Difficult to explain but it has a very important thing on the handle compare to my other knife - see the attached photo. I know it's probably a little thing, but very important for me. I always damaged myself with my old knife, but not with this one.The knife itself well ballanced, not too heavy, not too light. I think it's a perfect kitchen knife.

It's not for everyone I suppose...
I bought this knife to replace my JML Santoku knife which served me well for several years until the handle snapped. This knife is presented very well and would make a lovely gift to someone who loves knives but doesn't necessarily rely on them for regular prolonged use. I have big hands and holding the handle 'normally' the knife feels balanced. Straight-forward vertical slicing of soft foods feels fine, cutting requires very little effort because the knife is very sharp. However, different horizontal positions when cutting and slicing is when I noticed the knife didn't feel as balanced and quite unstable for fast-paced use. One thing that annoyed me to start with is that anything remotely damp and flat sticks to the knife - sliced (not diced) cucumber, courgette, onion etc. Next, when moving the knife around horizontally i.e. starting a cut with the knife point end first, cutting downwards towards the handle, the knife feels unbalanced and like it wants to 'fold' sideways when pressing down with any force. For example, cutting parsnips length-ways. To keep the knife vertically balanced I need to move my hand right up the handle with my thumb moving onto the topside of the blade. It feels like too much weight has been put into the handle which, because of the length of the blade, does balance the knife when holding absolutely horizontal, but upsets the balance when tipping the knife handle-high. After prolonged use I feel strain on my wrist and I have to hold the knife tighter to feel confidence in it's vertical balance which reduces my ability to move the knife around when working at a faster pace. I cook a lot and need a knife that can handle multi-purpose cutting, slicing and dicing. Unfortunately this knife doesn't cut it for me - pun intended.

Not only for Chefs
I love to cook, unfortunately because of arthritic hands, its difficult to carve joints of meat. My old knives from way way back are no longer fit for purpose. I saw this knife and read all the reviews, I knew it was heavier than Ive been used to, but I took a chance and ordered it. Wow its just so beautiful to look at, but in my case its just the job, although its heavier I find it more secure to use, its balanced perfectly. Mine is the 8" knife and I would not be without it. Now I can carve my joints of meat, but also buy meat which I can cut into small cubes for winter casseroles. Its so sharp that pressure is not needed, no more painful hands Excellent

realy good
There’s a reason we call the best kitchen knives “chef knives.” A good chef is a multitasker, so a good chef knife is designed to handle multiple jobs. Think of all the slicing and chopping involved in a beef stir-fry or a chicken noodle soup. You want a single tool that can handle it all. But the best chef knife can’t be defined by a single set of features. It’s all about hand-feel: The right knife should feel almost like an extension of your forearm. We talked to two chefs, a cooking instructor and a knife expert, then chopped, diced and peeled with 11 best-selling chef knives to see which stood out.

The best knife
This knife surpassed all of my expectations. it is super sgarp and sliced through everything from vegetables to chicken and meat like as if it was a hot knife through butter. The cover is definitely needed for something as sharp as this in the cutlery drawer. The handle is also very nice, finish seamlessly moulding into the steel of the knife it's quite pleasing to look at and very nice balanced weight when using.Full stop the box it came with also makes it a very ideal gift with premium packaging and compartments cut out for the knife for the information booklet and for the cover. Really good

Amazing knife
Bought this based on reviews and it did not dissapoint!Comes in a lovely box and I keep it in there when not in use rather than throwing in with normal knives to reduce the need for sharpening.Caution to anyone this knife is super sharp. One of the best indicators to me is how easily it cuts through a rippen tomato without squishing anything out. Handle is very comfortable and it is very good weight to comfortably dice smaller items. Not used the finger protector yet but its a nice touch to include it.Would recommend this item and probably will get the other Mad Shark knife in the future.
