Mechanics of Materials (9th Edition)

In my Solid Mechanics class we went through all 14 chapters of this book and I thought it was put together very well. The material was very interesting to me and the book went into detail to explain concepts. The examples featured in this book were fairly thorough, although sometimes a tad confusing, but I was still able to understand the material in the end. The professor I had for this class was not the best, but this textbook helped pull me through this class. Probably one of the best textbooks I've had in my college career thus far.

just to be clear: I bought the hardcover version that amazon sells ($180). It is brand new and in full color, like the one in the picture. People who are angry over the cheap/bad copies probably got their copy from marketplace sellers that sell international editions.Hibbeler is the primary author professors go to for pre-engineering. The book is always straightforward with plenty of examples.PROS:- the addition of preliminary problems and fundamental problems. They're basically easy problems that don't require that much calculation, but it builds a nice foundation for the harder problems that come later. The solutions to these types are in the back.CONS: For a 9th edition there are a lot of typos. I'm guessing Hibbeler was pressured by the publisher to come out with this edition by a certain deadline. Still, it doesn't take away from you actually learning the material, so no biggie. I'm just bitter because I had to spend almost 200 bucks for a freaking book.if you bought hibbeler's statics&dynamics 13e book you can see my rant on the similarity between editions. The same goes here. As always publishers are looking to make more money off broke students, so even though not much has changed since the last edition, you still have this book that covers the exact same material but with a different cover picture. If your professor uses mastering engineering, or doesn't use the problem sets from this book at all, then save your money and buy the 8th edition for like 20 bucks.

This book has good problems example. Easy to understand. Even if I am an electrical engineer that needs to know this subject I can learn it without major difficulty. My knowledge with Calculus and engineering mechanic are enough for reading this books.

I had to order the book online because the campus store didn't have it in stock due to the teacher not ordering it. It's in new condition and everything about it is as expected. I'm pleased with the purchase, but not terribly excited to begin learning the material.

Textbook was delivered as expected

This book was bought and received in brand new condition. It has good example problems but watch out for the symbols in the equations they can be different from learning from the teacher.

This is so cool it is just a new book for rent. the good part is you can use the video lecture for free so I recommend it !

Really great price for this textbook. I'm not a fan of the way publisher handles this author however the seller did a great job in this case.
