Q: Can you use this outside?

This unit can be used outside as long as there is no rain or snow on the ground.

Q: the hoae for mine does not fit the vacuum? why is this?

One end of hose fits the machine and the other end fits the attachments.

Q: I noticed a loose round piece under the cover inside the cylinder mesh cage. Is this normal?

Hello Julia, Thanks for your inquiry about our product. Yes, it is normal. That part is called the float that mainly prevents the water to enter the motor during wet pickup. The float goes up as the water fills up the drum. Q: Looking for a longer hose to fit this model, any ideas? Maybe 15 or 20 foot...

The hose (825625) has 2 plastic cuffs that are removable. Pull out one plastic cuff and connect to the other hose.
