Deeper Than The Ocean

I’m only a couple pages in and I can tell you right now that if you’re a Lil Peep (Gus) fan, Emma fan, or just a person who knows what it’s like to love someone THIS deeply, you’ll love this book. Me being both of those things, this cuts to the core. These are words that speak from the soul, from a broken heart, from a love not everyone gets to experience. I’m so glad I found this book and can’t believe I never knew it existed before yesterday. My husband and I have been Lil Peep fans for a long time now, and somehow we never knew about this book, we were so excited when we seen it that I purchased it right away and opened it as soon as it came! My husband and I sit on our bed as I read through some of the entries and we love how deep it is and can understand the emotion. Emma, this is beautifully written, vulnerable, emotional, and I can’t even imagine how scary this must have been sharing something so raw, but I appreciate you sharing it with us anyways, you’re a bad B. This book gives us a deeper look into not only Gus and Emma’s life/love, but also shows how real artists are, and how similar they can be to all of us. Like us, they are simply human, with real feelings and pain and heartache. Thank you for being brave enough to share this book with us all, and like Liza said, it truly is a gift. I will read it time and time again. I absolutely love it. Also, although I know you probably don’t regret a single moment with Gus, I’m also sorry for the pain and heartbreak you’ve been through, both before and after his death. It’s unimaginable. You can tell that your love was real and raw and I appreciate you sharing it with us. I feel like the words are meant for people with deeper minds and not everyone will understand all of it, but I do. I know what it’s like to love so deeply. To experience a love “deeper than the ocean“ is not something everyone is lucky enough to find. No matter how much it can hurt, it’s such a beautiful thing. So thank you again. Such a beautiful book, and I’m only a couple pages in, can’t imagine if wait what the rest of the books has in store. Thanks for being real and sharing it with us, Emma, thank you.

This.Book.Is.Everything. You can feel every emotion she felt. It’s raw and ugly all while being so beautiful. She’s just as good at explaining thoughts and feelings as Gus was, her words are beautiful. Truly a masterpiece. Whether your here for Peep or Emma, I hope this gives you what you’re looking for like it did me. A look into both of their lives from a different perspective. The documentary and his music tells a lot but this book let’s you look at it from Emma’s pov. From when they started to where they ended.

I cried like a baby the first time I read this book, and possibly a few times after as well. Emma Harris has taken raw emotions of being in a relationship with someone you’ve known forever, watching them grow without you, growing apart, and the agony and distress when you realize they can’t come back this time. So much of what she says is relatable to anyone who has experienced anything relatively close to the things she describes. It truly is an honor to get into the mind of someone who was so close to Gus, who we knew through his music. It brings almost an eerie calm to his death and makes you feel like he was your best friend also. Beautiful book of poetry from a beautiful, stong-worded, passionate girl who was trying to cope with losing someone important to her. Please write more poetry, I’m desperately waiting for book 2. 💛☺️ Haha

It’s hard to find the words to describe what this work of art meant to me. I have been a fan of peep since the summer of 2016 and I found comfort and love in his music like many others. His way with words helped And still do get me threw some of the darkest and hardest things life has thrown my way. He passed away on my 16th birthday and since then I cannot stand my own birthday, since then I haven’t been able to grasp that he is truly gone. This book brought me some closure to almost void feeling. It is so beautiful and real, it hurts to read but it’s the pain that is so cleansing. Thank you Emma for sharing this with the world it is a gift. You are a precious soul that is held close in so many hearts.

I absolutely adore peep and Emma. Emma is such an amazing writer and poet this book is so raw and emotional I love it. I can’t put it down I haven’t finished it though It’s like I don’t wanna rush I don’t wanna read it all at the same time I want to savor the moment. And I have read almost every review, I wish y’all would do more research about peep before making assumptions. Her and peep were in friends and in love since they were in 3rd grade!!!! So just imagine how close they were and they were soulmates so they both loved each other equally. I’m pretty sure peep and Emma were off and on constantly. They were together just 2 months before he died. September 27th 2017 peep commented under her photo “I’m planning our wedding”

This was such a beautiful read, especially being a fan of Peep. I definitely recommend. Only complaint is that there are ALOT of typos and a lot of random blank pages. Not sure if that’s a printer error or it’s supposed to be like that.

Sehr tiefgründig und emotional gehalten. Thematik lässt vor allem jugendliche ein wenig ins Grübeln kommen. Die Tatsache daß es auf Englisch geschrieben ist, ist für jeden Leser ein Zusatzpunkt an Englisch Unterricht. Zwar nicht immer gewollt aber dennoch hilfreich.

Je l’ai dévoré, j’ai pleuré, je l’ai adoré. Emma nous transporte avec elle, dans ce flot d’émotions, le récit prend au tripes... Je te souhaite le meilleur dans cette vie, d'être heureuse et accomplie. Plein de bonnes choses et encore merci! 🌹 Je pense que chacun d’entre nous peut se reconnaître dans sa poesie, dans sa globalité ou dans certains passages!

Very grateful my dad let me buy this book, this is the first poetry book that I've ever read and it's truly got me mesmerized. Thank you Emma for feeling vulnerable enough to share those poems with us, each stanza brings comfort to my heart. It gives so much more meaning to Gus' songs as well. I know that I'll be going back to this book to skim through all those words, again and again. You write very beautifully and I doubt I'll be able to ever find someone else, who writes quite like you.

La crudeza con la que Emma habla de lo que vive y siente, te remueve por dentro, te sumerge hacia todo lo que está sintiendo. Este libro es precioso, refleja el dolor de una forma única y muy humana. Emma tiene mucho potencial, espero que siga escribiendo. Recomendaría este libro sin duda.
