Just go slow. It works great.
Installed on an old boat with a weird floor drain I didn’t want to use anymore, since a transom drain is easier and can be left out while the boat is beached. It worked great, though halfway through we had to back out the bolts on the installer tool (needed— sold separately). But once that was done, this is nice and secure and leak free.Tools needed: drill with 1 inch hole saw, moeller clanging tool, and 2 socket sets or one socket set and a crescent wrench. You’ll need decent sized ones to get some good torque on the moeller flanging tool.

Take care with installation or you may get to buy a second one and do it twice.
The instructions on the package are a little lackluster. Be careful to watch how the ends form as you flange them with the installation tool. I found you need to ever so slightly form the end of the long tube so it will properly form the flange or you can just push it thru.

Easy, quick. Looks like factory install.
Product came quickly. Easy install. I added another o-ring for the inside of the pipe. Be aware of the two drain fittings. There is one that has an inner lip removed to receive the newly flanged tube on the outside of the boat. This fitting holds the whole connection together. If the fitting is used in reverse or the other fitting used incorrectly, the fitting will pull off after trying to flange it. Used a Sea Dog flange tool, ...works very well. Bought on Amazon. Great for aluminum/stainless steel boat. Used a drill operated, Bi-Metal 1" Hole Saw by Milwaukee. Nice, even, round hole. Do your pre-measure with the thicker fitting, not the tube, ....or your install may be too close to bottom seam of boat to allow the fittings to seat properly.

Works pretty well except the instructions were incomplete
Works pretty well except the instructions were incomplete. As one of the other reviewers mentioned 1 of the 2 aluminum rings has a small relief machined into one side of it, and the instruction do not identify where this relief is to be located. Contrary to what a previous reviewer said, I contacted Moeller to confirm this, the relief is intended for the O-Ring. If you don't do this you could potentially split the O-ring during installation because it would have no where to go when it compresses without the relief.

NEED PROPER TOOLS TO INSTALL
THE ADHESIVE A BIT MESSY BUT INSTALLATION WENT WELL . THE FLANGE TOOL WAS EASIER TO USE WITH 1/2 DRIVE IMPACT TO TIGHTEN FLANGE TOOL IN MAKING FINISHED FLANGE. ALL WENT WELL @ EASY. CAN'T WAIT TO GET IN WATER TO TEST OUT.

Great product for adding a drain to an aluminum boat
Great product for adding a drain to an aluminum boat. My 1960s Sears 12 foot aluminum boat did not come with any drains in it. This of course made it rather difficult to move after it rained. Installation required a bit from local hardware store and moeller flagging tool. Installation was straight forward.

Requires careful installation
Bought this drain tube using Amazon Prime (free shipping) for around $13. Bought a second drain tube in local boat shop for $6.95. Be very careful in choosing the Tube's length. My aluminum boat was .080 thick and required a 1 inch long drain tube. The longer tubes would have required trimming which is ok if you have the tools. Cut your 1 inch diameter hole using a 1 inch bi-metal hole saw with a pilot drill. Since there are no helpful instructions on the package, be sure to watch a You Tube video before starting installation.

Good fit
Boat got away and banged on the rocks for a weekend. Knocked out the original drain tube. This fit perfectly and does not leak.
