SOOOO MUCH BETTER THAN A TYPICAL BOOT!!!!
I rarely write reviews, but this deserves one. I bought this after having ankle surgery to remove the lower portion of my fibula and reconstruct the tendons and ligaments to attach to the remaining fibula, a procedure that requires at least 6 weeks of no weight bearing on my right ankle. My doctor had fit me in a typical boot which was okay, but it felt like a lot of weight was pulling on the ankle joint itself. I just could not get comfortable despite adjusting the straps and air bladder at least 100 times a day but I could not get comfortable and by the end of the day, my leg was exhausted and achy just from the weight of the boot. I ordered the elite version of this boot and it have had it on about 4 hours and I can already feel how much my ankle discomfort has improved! As there is a solid piece over the foot area, there is no longer any pulling on my ankle joint and I am about as comfortable as a person could be with a torture device on. I love that there are separate pressures in each of the regions so I can make tiny adjustments in tightness around my ankle, making sure it can’t move, but in a much more controlled way so that it doesn’t squeeze my leg. I spent $350 for the one provided by my physician (and only about $60 on Amazon), and $100 for this one. In addition, it is not as bulky and is easier to move around. It is one of the best purchases I’ve ever made in terms of how much better it is than the standard version. My recovery is going to be much less painful, irritating, and awkward due to this awesome boot!! If you are having ankle surgery and know you will need a tall boot, I would recommend purchasing prior to your surgery so you have it with you when you go in for the procedure. The only bad thing was that I couldn’t use my HSA card to pay for it.

Glad I tried it, I love it!!!
I've never had a broken bone, but broke my ankle this week, not fun. My docs PT guy have me a breg boot size med. $332.00. I told him it felt too big he checked and said it should be fine, and I wouldn't want my toes hanging over. It was awful!!! So I researched online, and because I assumed the $$$ breg must be good because the doctor is selling it, I started there... they were backordered on the breg size small so I went with the aircast elite full boot small as it was really the only other boot that had 3 air chambers as well. I'm normally a women's size 8 shoe and said it fit sizes 5-8. I LOVE IT! I don't do these reviews often, but thought it might help someone in my boat. I'm 5.6, 140ish, normal size calves and ankle. This small is perfect, lightweight, comfortable, I will say my toes hang over the under pad a tiny bit, but are still covered by the flap and doesn't bother me. Beyond happy with a smaller size boot, the other was way too heavy and not a snug fit. The only difference I see between this and the breg, other than it is fantastic, the breg looks as though it may have more shock absorbing on the bottom; which I'm sure is good, but I don't feel the difference in the way either of them strike the ground. The elite aircast still feels like it has enough bounce and frankly maybe that was why the breg is so dang heavy or cause it was flat out too big for me. It was honestly like trying to turn over with cinder blocks on my leg at night. Too be clear, the breg seemed like a nice boot, but likely to big for me and so heavy. This is just as nice, costs less and worked better for me. Sorry you are hurt, hope this helps! I put 5 stars for stretch, just wanted to give a good rating, but it's an odd question as think boots are supposed to be supportive, not strechy... that said it's well built with good quality, supportive, not flimsy plastic, just to be clear.

Very comfortable boot.
This boot is way more comfortable then the other 2 I have used before. I broke my foot at my 4th metatarsal bone and this helps keep the pressure off of the ball of my foot where I broke it. The other boot I tried did not help with pressure there I was in constant pain from it. I got the size small in the short version. I am a women and wear a size 8 shoe. You can see its a good fit. I may have needed a medium but this one is just fine. I can wear this almost all day with not feeling like I have to take it off. I do when I'm resting just to give my foot some air. I've been it for 5 weeks now. Still have 3 weeks left hopefully. The only thing I have found is that the liner piece where the bottom part of the front panel connects is coming apart. I ordered another liner.

Works very well and helped quite a bit.
Liked:Lower price than what the doctors office charges. (which my doctor confirmed)Well made, easy to put on and take off.Light weightCame with long socks.Dislike:The valve connector at the back of the leg inside the boot seems to dig into the back of my calf. I had to put a bit of cushioning over that to be more confortable. The small narrow velcro strip on the back top of the boot came undone and I will have to reglue it to help the top back padding strip to stay in place. The push button inflator seems a bit flimsy, but it worked and never failed for me.The release valve takes a lot of pressure to release the air, and hurt my little fingers, so I didn't use it very often.I twisted my ankle and tried NOT to go to the doctor since I couldn't afford the cost with my high deductible. After trying to work in my kitchen for over 4 hours and being in extreme pain, once the boot came that same afternoon, I put the boot on, and NO MORE PAIN! It really immobilized my foot/ankle and really worked well. When I finally did go see my doctor, he was a bit put out that I purchased it on my own, but then confirmed that this boot was purchased at a really good price, and it was just what I needed to immobilize my ankle. Note, Ankle injuries need a long boot. Foot injuries need just a short boot. which was confirmed by my doctor.Hint: Purchase the Pro Care EvenUP shoe Balancer which you wear on your opposite shoe so it balances you out when you walk.
