Scant on directions but easily figured out.

I received the package on time, the lifting bars worked fine and we undamaged, but in no way shape of form could we get the pneumatics to compress. We tried turning them, pulling them, pushing them, anything to try to unlock them and nothing worked. Obviously broken.

My wife had a very large ottoman (48x40) custom made and the hinges they installed were flimsy and could not hold the weight. I had a 5th wheel and thought of these bed hinges so I decided to try them out. First thing, your lid cannot be attached at all to the box you’re covering. These hinges slide and lift so they will pull on any extra hinges. After figuring this out and after playing with screw placement, I got them installed in about 30min. They are great and very supportive. You have to literally push them down or they will not close. Overall I am very pleased!

I installed this set in a camper to lift a queen-size bed, with a storage compartment below.As others noted, it comes with no instructions at all. Photos here from others helped, so I posted my own.In order to install, it helped to be able to slide myself underneath the surface to be lifted so I could mark where to drill holes for the hardware with the "lid" closed before affixing the brackets. It comes with round head bolts, which require being able to access the inside and outside surface of the side walls where you are installing the lower brace.You may need to plan on using different hardware with the right length and style for your job. For my installation I could use supplied hardware on the left side but not the right, without drilling through the outer wall of my camper, so I installed a 2x4 brace inside and used construction screws with washers to affix the lower brace on the right side.The "lid" I am lifting originally tilted up with piano hinges on the back edge. I had to remove these hinges. Note that when you install these brackets the lid still tilts up in the front, but also pushes up in the back, so the back edge rises about 6" off the surface...and it pushes back and down when you lower it closed.Lastly, you won't be able to pull open the pneumatic pistons by hand. Don't conclude they are "frozen." They will operate correctly once installed on the brackets and you have leverage to push down on the affixed lid.

Our storage has expanded and is easy to access. We have this on all our beds. It was easy to install and is great construction.

These work great but with no directions that explain tolerances I had to spend trial and error time installing. Im sure there is someone in China that speaks enough english to draft a diagram. Numbers in China work the same in the states .

I’m mechanically inclined to say the very least, so I didn’t need instructions. However, some pointers on where to mount the hinges for the best function would have been nice. I’m sure it wouldn’t be so easy for someone who’s not a mechanic, and would make it waster for those of us that are…
