A Game-Changer for Pool Maintenance – Affordable and Effective!
I recently purchased the Pool Mate 7-Pounds Premium Pool Stabilizer and Conditioner to help maintain my 15,000-gallon backyard pool, and I’m thrilled with the results. As someone who’s always looking for cost-effective solutions to keep my pool crystal clear, this product has exceeded my expectations, and Amazon’s price was unbeatable compared to local pool supply stores. Why I Chose This ProductI was struggling with rapid chlorine loss due to intense sunlight in my area, which was driving up my maintenance costs. After testing my pool water and finding the cyanuric acid (CYA) level was below 30 ppm, I knew I needed a reliable stabilizer to protect my chlorine. The Pool Mate 7-pound bucket caught my attention due to its concentrated formula, solid reviews, and the fact that it’s made in the USA, which gave me confidence in its quality.Ease of UseThe instructions on the packaging are straightforward. I tested my pool water using a reliable test kit (as recommended) and calculated that I needed about 18 ounces to raise my CYA level by 30 ppm for my pool size. I added the granular stabilizer slowly through the skimmer while the pump was running, and it dissolved completely within 24 hours, as promised. For those new to pool maintenance, I’d suggest pre-dissolving the granules in a bucket of warm water to speed things up, but I had no issues with clumping or residue using the skimmer method.PerformanceThe results were impressive. After adding the stabilizer and allowing the pool to circulate for a day, I retested the water, and my CYA level was right in the ideal 40-60 ppm range. Over the next two weeks, I noticed a significant reduction in chlorine loss, even during hot, sunny days. Previously, I was adding chlorine almost daily, but with this stabilizer, I’ve cut my chlorine consumption by at least 20-25%, just as the product claims. My water stays clear and sanitized, and I’ve saved both time and money on pool chemicals.Value for MoneyAt $36.19 for 7 pounds, this product is a steal, especially since Amazon’s price was lower than what I found at local pool stores (where similar products were priced $5-10 higher for smaller quantities). The 7-pound size is perfect for my pool, with enough left over for future adjustments. The cost savings from reduced chlorine use alone make this a worthwhile investment. Pros Highly effective at stabilizing chlorine, reducing loss due to sunlight.Easy to apply with clear dosing instructions (6 oz per 5,000 gallons raises CYA by 10 ppm).Affordable price point, especially on Amazon, beating local competitors.Large bucket size offers great value for multiple applications. No residue or cloudiness when added properly.Cons Takes 24 hours to fully dissolve and stabilize, so plan ahead (not really a con, just something to note).A measuring scoop would’ve been a nice addition for precise dosing, but I used a kitchen scale without issue.Final ThoughtsThe Pool Mate 7-Pounds Premium Pool Stabilizer and Conditioner is a must-have for anyone with an outdoor pool exposed to sunlight. It’s effective, easy to use, and delivers on its promise to extend chlorine life, saving you money in the long run. Amazon’s competitive pricing made this an even better deal, and I’m confident this product will keep my pool in top shape all season. Highly recommend to pool owners looking for a reliable and budget-friendly stabilizer! Disclaimer: I purchased this product myself and was not incentivized to write this review. All opinions are my own based on my experience.

Best CYA for your pool ever!
Perfect! This immediately raises my CYA. Simply added some put some in my skimmer, which has a skimmer sock. It resolved very fast. Then kept adding more throughout the day until the bag was empty. I have a big pool and it needs lot of CYA. And this worked!! 100x better than Leslie’s CYA/Conditoner. I wasted $90 on Leslie’s Pool Conditioner and it did nothing! This, however, raised my CYA immediately. Made the chlorine in my pool work better. And now my pool is algae free again, water is crystal clear, and sparkling!!

Reliable Stabilizer That Helps Maintain Chlorine Levels
The Pool Mate 7-Pound Premium Pool Stabilizer and Conditioner has been a solid addition to my pool maintenance routine. It effectively stabilizes chlorine levels, reducing the need for frequent chlorine additions, which is both convenient and cost-effective.The product dissolves relatively quickly when added to the skimmer, especially if pre-mixed with warm water, and the included instructions are clear and easy to follow. While it’s not the fastest-dissolving stabilizer on the market, it performs well and offers good value for the price.Overall, this stabilizer is a dependable choice for maintaining chlorine effectiveness in your pool.

Ignore the bad reviews, let me explain why and how to use this properly.
First off, I've read some 1 star reviews by people that clearly have no idea what this product is, how it works, or how to use it. This is 100% Cyanuric Acid (CYA). While it says Stabilizer and Conditioner, this is one ingredient.CYA is a chemical that acts as a chlorine stabilizer. It forms a protective shield around the chlorine molecules in your pool, preventing them from breaking down when exposed to ultraviolet (UV) rays from the sun. The recommended amount of CYA in your pool can vary depending on whether you have a saltwater pool with a Salt Water Chlorine Generator (SWG) or a traditional chlorine pool. In a traditional chlorine pool without an SWG, the recommended range for CYA is 40-50, whereas a salt water pool would be higher at a recommended 70-80.Adding CYA to your pool is important for maintaining an effective chlorine level. Without CYA, the chlorine in your pool can quickly dissipate due to sunlight exposure, requiring you to add more chlorine frequently. By using CYA, you can extend the lifespan of your chlorine, saving you both time and money. How to add it:Do NOT just dump it into the pool. CYA takes time to dissolve fully in the water. By just dumping it into the water, it may not dissolve properly and could settle on the pool floor, or worse, clog the filter.Instead you can either use an old sock, or (see photo) my favorite method is some sack cloth. Measure how how much you need, following the instructions carefully, then letting it soak for 12 hours. If you see my photo, I do it this way so I can place the skimmer lid back, and keep the cloth from falling into the skimmer (don't let this happen). Also, make sure the pump stays running for 24 hours during and after adding CYA.You can speed the process up by massaging the sack, just don't do this too vigorously otherwise you'll end up with CYA granules falling out.Notes:CYA does not break down or dissipate. It remains in the water for an extended period of time, providing its stabilizing effects on chlorine. Unless you have had your pool water replaced, or you have a new pool there is no reason to keep adding CYA.CYA levels can gradually build up in the pool over time, especially if excessive amounts are added or if the water is not diluted or partially drained and refilled periodically. This buildup can lead to high CYA levels, also known as "chlorine lock," which can negatively impact the effectiveness of chlorine. Monitoring and testing CYA levels regularly is crucial to maintaining the appropriate range for optimal pool chemistry and chlorine stability.
