I was surprised at the weight of the base. It is thin but heavy and really makes the unit stable. Assembly was straightforward and took about 15 minutes but I was in no hurry. Clamps seem well made and insulated. The light has several levels of brightness. The power supply is USB, I even ran it off of my laptop with no issues. Overall, very happy with the purchase.

Well designed. Heavy, sturdy base. Quality parts. Built to last. And it functions perfectly as that elusive third arm that’s always needed for soldering! Fantastic product!!

Picked this up to aid in soldering quad builds and other solder projects. I have another solid helper but with no magnification/ light and I love it. This unit has a weighted base which makes it stable. All necessary hardware included and assembly was simple and quick. The lighted magnifier (via usb plug) works okay but the flexible arms are its weakness. The arms don’t always stay in the position you put them which is annoying and you don’t want movement when soldering with a hot iron. Unfortunately this item failed to earn a desired 5 stars. The seller shipped quickly and transaction smooth.

My dad is a mechanic and electrician and this has come handy to him. He works with small parts and with age 😁 he needs extra light but his shop at work does not have it. He either has to buy a new lamp or this. The looking Glass is small but helpful, as well as the light. There were no instructions on how to put it together but my dad did not care. He only wished it came with a longer cable

Nice heavy base, well constructed parts, decent quality gator clips, stay-put arms. The light could be a cd or 2 brighter, but I'm still happy with it and won't complain about that. The light is definitely bright enough. Strong magnifying glass. Very, very happy with it. Absolutely worth 5 stars.

This seems like a good unit, not prone to tipping over, heat shrink tubing on the jaws of the alligator clips and so on. I tend to think of USB-powered for things with batteries, but as far as I can tell, this unit needs to be plugged in at all times. Not a bad thing, really, since it will always be ready to go, with the light at full power. But I may just skip the light, to allow moving the unit around without needing a USB power source nearby.It wasn't difficult to assemble and they even give you a too-small screwdriver. But at first, I tried attaching the aligator clips using the screws on the clips. It took a while to realize the thumb screws are used for this. In fairness, this is shown in the photo on Amazon, but would it be too much trouble to toss in a page of assembly instructions? They managed to include two requests asking for a good review.

I saw this one used at 50% off so I snatched it. Amazon said there was minor cosmetic damage to "the top" but I haven't found anything yet. The clips come with soft jaws and mine even came with an extra clip. The arms are nice and stiff yet flexible enough to go where you need them to go within reason. Once you position the arms, it stays put.The light is adjustable for brightness and has a warm and a cool color switch. The magnifying glass could've been a little bit bigger but for SMD work (which is why I got it) it's fine for reading the impossibly tiny codes on 0402 resistors.If you run a professional shop, you'll probably want something with a few more features but for the garage electronics tech, this is just about perfect.

Took a gamble buying this helping hands but have to admit it is good for value money. The folding arms and clamps are good.. the screw provided for the arms..you need to really tighten them very tight otherwise the arms tend to get loose very easily when adjusting. The stand is nice and heavy and the clamps will hold you pcb or any other part in quite firmly. The lamp has a good range of settings and brightness. Only one slight niggle is that the magnifier glass could of been made abit more bigger and to but other than it is a very good product at a good reasonable price.

After compared to many similar products. The hands with a lamp together in this price is not easy to find.Clips and hands are stable, however, the lamp drains the battery very quickly, so it needs a USB adaptor to use.

Excellent quality for the price easy to assemble and magnifying glass is spot on and the light works a treat glad I payed a little more for this instead of buying a cheaper holder

Doesn't come with instructions, but audience for this kit should have no trouble.Set it up in 5 mins just fine.It is a life saver for someone with older eyesBase is heavy and anything but narrow, so no chance of tipping over

As my eyesight has deteriorated quite a bit I found the magnifier and excellent light on the unit a great help and the arm and clips hold the workpiece in place and is far superior compared to other similar tools I’ve had in the past
