What is an elimination diet? Has your veterinarian diagnosed your dog or cat with food allergies or intolerance? Then you may need to put your pet on an elimination diet. The aim of an elimination diet is to stop your pet's symptoms of intolerance and find the source of the complaints. The elimination diet can be prepared at home with the help of 1 of the Unique Protein foods by TROVET. These products contain a single carbohydrate source (such as rice or potato that you cook yourself) and a single protein source (TROVET Unique Protein food) that your pet has not eaten before. This new protein source is usually an animal protein source that is rarely used in commercial pet food. You can feed your pet one of the TROVET Unique Protein foods for 6 to 8 weeks. During this test period, you should not feed your pet anything else in order to get the most reliable diagnosis. Unique protein sources: It is important to select a protein source that your pet has never eaten before. You can choose from a range of flavours. If you have chosen a suitable protein source, you can then move on to one of the complete TROVET Hypoallergenic diet foods based on the same protein and carbohydrate sources. It is therefore important to plan ahead which carbohydrate you plan on cooking for your pet during the elimination diet, taking into account the subsequent food. TROVET Unique Protein Sausage These sausages are available in Lamb, Rabbit, Venison, Turkey, Quail, and Horse flavours. If you are not sure whether your dog will enjoy the product, you can try out a single sausage as a test. They are also available in packs of four (800 grams). Aside from these sausages, TROVET Unique Protein is also available in wet food tubs of 100 grams (for cats and small dogs), and 300 grams (for all other dogs). ...
