Having been pleased with the build quality of other Amazon Basics products, I thought I'd give these a go and I am very happy with it.Having a techy background, I knew that there is a lot of misconceptions about price v quality when buying cables (particularly cables that carry a digital signal - HDMI etc.) Supermarkets and Electronics retailers have a tendency to offer hugely expensive GOLD PLATED, fancy looking versions of these cables for huge prices and will sell them as being far better than a basic cable. Cosmetically, this may be true. In terms of performance, it is a myth. A cable carrying a DIGITAL signal will either work, or it won't! So don't feel you need to buy something fancier than this cable - you don't!Consider the HDMI 1.4 (Ethernet) bit future proofing. Most purchasers aren't likely to need it - yet, but as more devices begin to support it, it will be good to have cables that already support it. I decided to purchase the AmazonBasics Apple Certified Lightening to USB Cable over other brands.My decision was made easy due to the fact that this product was backed by an AmazonBasics 1 year limited warranty. At the time, no other manufacturer was providing a similar warranty.I had gone through many such cables and I was sure that this cable would also fail. I purchased the cables in December 2013 and now it's almost coming up to 3 years. The cables are still going strong. A big shout out to Amazon for sourcing such an excellent quality product.I purchased this item at full price. Well made quality cables at a sensible price. Don't be bemused by the lengthy product title. If you want a HDMI cable this will do the job whether you want 3D, ARC or not. No reason to spend any more than this unless you want a longer one in which case spend a pound or two more. These Amazon basics cables perform the same functions as all the other high speed HDMI cables you see out there just at a very competitive price. Paying £10, £20 or £40? you are buying nothing with that extra cash. The signals over HDMI are digital and so they either work or don't work. Don't worry about all the marketing guff of Ethernet over HDMI either because these cables alone will not give you this function; yes it exists as a standard, but nobody has actually sold AV equipment that has Ethernet over HDMI anyway so don't worry.At this price I bought three to get above the amazon add-on limit an excuse anyway to replace the coiled, miscellaneous, longer HDMI cables contributing to cable spaghetti. At 90cm These are just long enough if your disc player, game console set-top box thingies (a technical term) are directly underneath the tv.Supplied with Apple style plastic caps over the conductors at both ends to prevent scratching I presume (or just some marketing psych ploy), and while you are looking at the ends don't forget to peel off the little transparent plastic films (4 per cable) that cover the printed Amazon logos. Not sure why they bother doing that either but you must pull those off because even though nobody else will know you left them on, you will, and they will the sort of thing that keep you awake at night while that storm blowing in from that unusual direction lashes rain against your bedroom window. Save yourself a stubbed toe searching for a torch.
