Really impressed!
I've had the flash for a week and it works really well. Things I really like:- It uses a small lithium battery that is replaceable but not rechargable. I've not had it long enough to test Misfit's claim that it lasts 6 months but you don't need to charge it at all.- It's small and comes with a clip so you can "wear it" in your pocket, on your jacket, in your shoe or use the wrist strap (which also fits round my ankle). This means I don't need it on my wrist which like most other trackers.- It detects your activity pretty intelligently. When I wear it to play football and it accurately detects the start and stop times of the activity and records how many steps and miles I covered, plus calories burned. It also fairly accurately detects when I've gone to bed (although I've had to adjust the start time a couple of times as I've gone from sitting on the couch for an hour then to bed and it thinks I was in bed for the hour I was on the couch). Whilst it captures 'steps' all the time it also gives a 'day log' where it shows periods of activity, like when I walk up for the train in the morning, it captures the times and how many steps where taken for that activity, without me having to tell it I'm doing something particular.- It syncs well/without much effort (once setup) with myfitnesspal which I use to record my meals, and myfitnesspal adjusts the amount of calories I need to consume based on my exercise for the day- The app is pretty good , although I don't use the "social" settings it does tell you the average number of "points" someone your age/sex achieves daily.I was able to buy it for (August 2016) £24.95 including free delivery. Really impressed!

Unfit for purpose - not waterproof as stated
This is my second Misfit Flash (the first one lasted one day - as soon as it touched water it stopped working). Amazon sent out a replacement and I kept it away from water as much as possible, but this one has now stopped working. On removing the back this one has also let water in and has corroded the internals. I will attempt to get my money back from Amazon as this product is unfit for purpose. It is described as waterproof, but clearly is not. AVOID.

Like all the other reviewers have said its a good/great ...
Like all the other reviewers have said its a good/great product let down by terrible quality bands/belt hook attachments. The watch strap is okay but as I had this on holiday I used the other attachment for hooking on belts, pockets and shoes etc but unfortunately it has since broken and since I don't really like watches it may be consigned to a pocket or more likely the drawer.I at least had read and knew what I was buying so not even going to complain or buy new ones as for the price they aren't worth it as same thing will happen to them probably in the space of two weeks.Saying that the Flash itself is solid and did the job, as did the app and if they got the rest as good as the flash its a five stars product especially for the price.

Could do with a Gym Activity and be more reliable
First one had to be returned after two days as the wrist strap split and would not hold the fob any longer. Replacement came VERY quickly and has been fine since. Its a handy tool but the "points" lead goals are hard to define, there is nothing to equate a point to, unit of energy? cals? minutes of activity etc? Also,,standard gym workouts are not included in the activities it is set up for, walking, cycling, running, swimming etc,,but nothing generic) Defo handy wee toy but don't run your life by it.Update,,,2nd unit died completely later last year after only a month or two,, much emailing back and forth, sending pictures of the inside of the unit,,the box etc,,,got a new one,,again very quickly, only the fob supplied, I have now had that around 2 mths,,and guess what,,,its died again,,no lights whatsoever,,battery is not an issue as a new one also doesn't work.I have advised the misfit support team that 3 units in 6 mths is unacceptable and I will no long pursue a repair ,,,or buy it again.I use it for occasional swimming, gym work and walking, it has not been under any unwarranted stresses etc,,just unreliable.

Love it
So I've had mine for over a week and worn it constantly.pros:1) I like how it uses a points system and rates your effort and gives you more points for working harder instead of just counting steps e.g. you get more points for jogging 5k than you would for walking the same distance.2) The sleep tracking is a novelty and seems to match up with my overall perception of how well I've slept.3) Cheap4) App syncs into myfitnesspal so I keep track of diet and exercise in one place5) tells the time6) waterproof7) can be worn anywherecons:1) mine doesn't seem to fit in it's wrist strap properly but it's not fallen out yet.2) looks cheap3) slightly over estimates calories burned during exercise (although I appreciate it's taking into account the basic metabolic rate plus the exercise)

Hardware is good, software and removing features lets it down
This would have got a 4 star review had I done it previously, When i bought it, its was advertised as a swim tracker as well, ive now been told by misfit the device is NOT suitable for swimming (assuming its due to a design fault boo!). Also the updates to the android apps have broken syncing, which needs a reboot to fix (or say goodbye to your battery), and removes all references to swim tracking and refuses to let you tag a swim.I also made a mistake as it was adveristed as being like the shine but plastic and cheaper, BUT there is no notification support, or alarm capability. The tracker is comfy, the battery life is great, and although it may track things differently than other trackers (points rather than calories) its tracking is accurate to itself, great device, the app / removal of features lets it down however,Saying that, I will more then Likely pick up a shine 2 when they make their way onto amazon.
