Finally--Something that Works!!!
Finally, an alarm clock that wakes my son! He can sleep through just about anything--possibly even a smoke alarm. Until now, his only reliable wake-up call has been to have a person physically get him up, and even that required making sure he wasn't really talking in his sleep after he seemed awake. He's still at home working and attending college, but he plans to leave for a residential college in another year. This posed a real dilemma. What should he do--pay another student to shake him out of bed? And he felt like a baby, having to rely on Mom, Dad, or a brother to get him out of bed at his age. This clock has solved the problem. The bed shaker, in particular, seems to do the trick. He has woken up reliably since getting it and has told us to take off the "training wheels" (setting our own clocks to double-check). This is a great relief to all of us. Expensive clock, but well worth it!Update December 31, 2015: After nine months the bed shaker has stopped working. I have contacted the company to see if they will replace it. I will update again when I hear back. In the meantime, I've ordered a $35 replacement shaker on Amazon. We have no choice! Hope it gets here fast. This is a wonderful piece of equipment; as I've said above, it has restored independence and dignity to a guy who simply cannot function without it. If only it would last....

Amazing alarm clock
Amazing alarm clock. I purchased this for my father who has hearing aids. So far this clock has been able to wake him every morning since it arrived. The night light and other features to increase the sound the modify the clock are really great. Though, I did really buy it because it has the nice feature of being able to work and keep all its loud rings and lights working when its not connected to an electrical socket. This is one of the few electronic clocks that works when your power goes out!

expensive alarm clock and not louder
I don't like that clock , not enough loud alarm and I can't see what time on that clock in the bed, ,it is not brighter on the flasher and too much money for it.

It works!!!!!!
I have wasted money on numerous alarms. Guaranteed loud, even bought an old fashioned one with 2 huge bells. It woke everyone but me. So my first night with this alarm as usual I didn't sleep good. Waking up every hour to check the time. The vibration scared the wires out of me but I woke up on time. Second night I slept like a baby. The vibration I am now used too, the bright light helps also. KUDOS to whoever designed this alarm. Its perfect. Easy to use and my husband appreciates not being woken up at 1 am. And I appreciate even more not being woken up by his elbow telling me to get up. LolI have had it a week. I hope this trend continues.

A well-made alarm clock with some fatal flaws...
This is a very well-made alarm clock. Setting the time and alarm on this clock couldn't be any easier. The decreasing snooze time interval from 9 to 2 minutes is a nice feature for someone like me who is prone to frequently hitting the snooze button. Note that in the instructions, it is said to have a 20 minute snooze timeout, which I interpret to mean that the snooze will stop and, thus, the alarm will no longer sound after 20 minutes. However, I tested that assumption over the weekend and found that I was able to hit the snooze button for at least an hour without it timing out (it probably would have continued to sound had I given it even more time). I also like that it has a small footprint. That said, it could definitely stand to be improved, especially given that it is marketed towards people with hearing loss. As a point of reference, I am deaf in one ear and have a mild (low frequencies) to profound (high frequencies) hearing loss in the other. The bed shaker is enough to rouse me from sleep, but I would prefer it to be stronger (just short of being catapulted out of bed!). The main issue is that the alarm is barely audible (for me at least) and the light is very weak. Note that I also have a Sonic Alert Sonic Boom alarm clock in the room, as I need two alarm clocks to get me out of bed in the morning. I have no problem hearing this alarm clock, even though I placed it away from the bed so that I have to physically get up to turn it off. The B & S Alarm Clock Pro, on the other hand, is on a nightstand right next to my bed and I can still barely hear it. As for the light, I don't see how it could possibly wake anyone up, unless it happens to be directly facing them (and even then, I have doubts as to whether it would be enough to wake someone up; it definitely wouldn't wake me up).It is important to note that you cannot adjust the alarm volume or light intensity (note that you can adjust the intensity of the back light, just not the flashing lights that serve as the visual alarm). If this was a possibility, then some of the weaknesses I mentioned above might be mitigated--unless, of course, they made the current volume and light intensity the highest level. In sum, this is a nice alarm clock with a lot of potential. As it currently stands, however, the bed shaker does the job (just barely), but the alarm and light are relatively ineffectual--at least for someone with hearing loss.
