Seems to work great and easy to install.
It's hard to do a review for something like this but our first internal battery only alarm from this company lasted for many years but started beeping which indicated that it was time to replace it. I wanted to go with a plug-in this time around but it has the back up batteries in the event of a black out. Certainly easy to install and the test function worked fine.

Very easy to install but one of my units came with weak batteries
I bought two of these items, one for each floor of our house. Both came with two AA batteries installed but insulated from the contacts. One of the units worked fine after installing it according to the directions, but the other signaled that its batteries were low as soon as it was plugged into an AC outlet. Fortunately, I had spare AA batteries that were in the list of batteries that could be used and was able to successfully replace the weak batteries.

A piece of Mind for Mom.
My son is living in a college style apartment. I have trust issues (lol) so I bought this for safety for him. It’s small so it doesn’t take up a lot of room and I feel safer knowing this reliable detector is there. There is a small green light but it is not blinding. You could easily buy a small piece of paper or tape over it. It works perfectly for us on this small space. Highly recommend.
