2745425 Nitrate and Nitrite Test Strips

For an inexpensive water testing method, these test strips do an excellent job. I am required to test the water once a week by the State and I have used this brand of strips satisfactorily for over 15 years. The readings I get from these strips is in alignment with the expensive lab tests the State does periodically with our water supply. CAUTION: Follow the instructions and NEVER touch the 2 testing pads with your fingers. Take a strip out of the container and close that container at that time.

I like them...

Testing septic effluent. If they are not close to expiring, the seem to work well.

Put an under sink nitrate filter at a house that had high nitrate issues. This provides an easy way to monitor the filters effectivness.

Nitrate pad turned an ugly brown within 4 months. I have been using test strips in a clinical setting and for my aquariums for years. This is the first time I have seen this problem. LaMotte strips are working for me a lot better for my fresh water aquariums. You have to remember to multiply the result you get with both Hach and Lamotte by 4.66 to get the correct reading in ppm.

Works very well for reliable results with only a one minute test time. Best price in the market.

Good test strips at a bargain price

This test strips are only good for a rough order of magnitude result. For my example, my well water tested at 13.3 ppm. Since the action level is 10ppm, I installed an RO system to remove nitrates. With these test strips, I can tell that the RO water is lower than the well water, but I cannot tell if the RO water is at 11 or 9 because the scale is so imprecise. It's 'around 10' but that isn't good enough for drinking water.
