original Kindle review useless, but book great!
I have not yet read this book, although it sounds good and I may yet buy one. My 1 Star rating is strictly for the horrible job Amazon did of providing a sample for Kindle users. The book apparently contains photos and descriptions of antique Travel Trailers. The Kindle "sample" stops right after the Preface. No photos, no content, no information that would actually tell anyone whether the book is worth buying. The Preface was well written, and sounded interesting. But a book like this really needs a sample of the actual content, say 10% of the first chapter, to be able to tell what's in the book and/or if a book with photos is suitable for reading on a Kindle. If the original photos were B&W, then they may look fine on a newer 16 tone gray-scale Kindle. But at least some of the photos in the paper book are in color, so who knows how they will look on a Kindle? Also unknown is whether this is simply a coffee table book for looking at, or does it contain practical information on buying or restoring an antique trailer? Again, a little content is needed for the sample to be of any use.I first became aware of this book over three years ago. The original book description was very minimal. At the time, I was researching the smallest Travel Trailer I could live in full-time. The description didn't say if the book was 90% illustrations, did it have floor plans, did it include modern trailers, did it talk about actually living in trailers, etc. In short, would it actually help you select a trailer to buy?I grew so frustrated that I wrote a negative review, specifically complaining about the lack of any useful information that would tell you the actual content of the book. I had several reviewers jump all over me about submitting a negative review, but neither one of them bothered to describe what was actually in the book.Well, the author has now updated his book description, and the number of reviews has grown to where I finally had some idea of what I would be buying. Although this book would not have helped me select a modern trailer, it is a delightful book that I wish I had read years ago.To answer my own questions: The book is a brief overview of the history of tiny trailers. It is well illustrated with beautiful color photographs. There are a few original period photos, but mostly modern shots of lovingly restored trailers and often their restored tow vehicles. Generally, the will be two or three paragraphs of text, followed by several photos. There are no floor plans, and only brief specifications. The book might inspire you to restore an antique trailer, but doesn't go into the nuts and bolts details of how to do so.It is a wonderful book for RVers, campers and anyone interested in Travel Trailers or even just the 1930s ~ 60s. Owners of modern trailers will learn the family tree of their home on wheels. Those wishing to buy or restore an antique trailer, or even build a homemade trailer will find a wealth of ideas and inspiration in this book. Although it's just a starting point for serious research, it's an excellent resource.

Fun and informative history of the teardrop trailer
If you are interested in the history of teardrop trailers, this book is for you. Filled with great photographs and interesting details of the teardrop's birth and now it's revival today. This is not a how to book nor does the book have specifications, so if you are building your own teardrop, this book is great for inspiration.

Pleasant, plenty of photos, dreamy reading
I found this book after looking for some Mechanix Illustrated magazine plans on trailers and learning that the Tiny Teardrop Trailer had a following. The pictures are superb and a reader's imagination will be entertained. This is a great gift for any do-it-yourselfer or industrious mechanic who likes to build with their hands.

Teardrop Trailers
Last October I started construction on a teardrop trailer, mostly as a winter project (I'm a retired engineer). As work progressed I became even more fascinated with tiny trailers, and when I saw the "Teardrops and Tiny Trailers" book on Amazon I had to have it! Beautiful photography, and so many more styles of tiny trailers than I was ever aware of. The captions, or commentary, with each picture was interesting and informative. Great book (on my coffee table), and my 87 year old mother even enjoyed reading this book!

Teardrop campers answer the needs for 4-cyclinder powered adventurers!
For all who love car shows, this is a keeper. It's like being at one! The author captures many of the unique trailers in camp grounds. For those with building skills, this is a can-do idea book for creating an attractive and functional trailer. I'm glad to see the revival of these small, lightweight campers today as many vehicles are powered by 4 cylinder engines. This book gives a glimpse of many great teardrop campers.

Enchanting, ingenious little trailers - nostalgic and new
An interesting read for trailer aficionados, novices, RV and even tent camping enthusiasts. Excellent photography, engaging and concise history. I keep a copy in my teardrop to lend to campers who ask for a tour and more information. This book's "tiny trailers" are non-teardrops like Shasta, Serro Scotty and other "canned hams." Good value, great book.

Get your Tear Drop On!
Do you love the idea of dropping everything and heading out for a few days on the open highway... but the cost of fuel and lodging holds you back? This book will inspire you with very real solutions to the fuel and lodging problems. Look at the very cool way regular folk traveled during the depression era and beyond, keeping it minimalist but comfy all the same. Beautiful layout and photos and inspirational to those with incurable wanderlust.
