Audio-Technica AT875R Line and Gradient Condenser Microphone(Renewed)

The mic has too much noise. I know it's the mic because I have a very good preamp that I'm pairing it with (Centrance R4R). The preamp alone with gain turned up all the way has very low noise, but as soon as I plug in the mic, it has way higher noise level. Also, the "sss" are too harsh for my liking. It's very bright sounding. If you like that then this mic might be for you. If you're looking for something with a little more subtle brightness and more bass, you may want to look elsewhere. The directionality of pickup was actually pretty good for the price. Be aware that this is a MONO mic! I wasn't aware of that when I bought it. If you're looking for a stereo mic, look elsewhere.

You can read about the fact that this is an excellent mic. I'm impressed that the mic came well packaged, with all the accessories and without a scratch -- it looks and works like new. So long as you test it within the return window, I think it's well worth the risk of buying renewed.

Great size for Med sized camcorders. Quality is hood, esp indoors. Haven’t determined pickup distance-range. As manny reviews, I find this a high quality shotgun for much better price than other popular brands. Comes with windscreen

I use this to capture audio for an online class. It works wonderfully from about 4 ft away from the speaker.
