Great buy
Excellent quality, flame retardant, they shrink a little bit and fit better to size after they’re washed and dried. Comfortable fit and adjustable and lot of pockets.

Built Tough — Comfort Meets Durability!
I recently picked up a pair of men’s Carhartt duck work pants, and I’m genuinely impressed. Here’s the breakdown:💪 Rugged Durability: Made of heavyweight duck canvas, these pants stand up to serious wear and tear. Whether I’m handling tools, kneeling in the yard, or lifting boxes, they show no signs of wear.🔥 Weather-Ready: These are great in cooler weather — they block wind well and provide solid warmth. In warmer temps, they run a bit warm, but breathable enough for most outdoor tasks.🛠 Functional Design: The reinforced knees and triple-stitched seams give peace of mind. Deep pockets, utility loops, and a hammer loop make them practical for job sites or daily tasks.👍 Comfortable Fit: They come in generous, relaxed cuts. The mid-rise fit is comfortable even when bending or leaning. The thick fabric breaks in over time, becoming even more comfortable with wear.💡 Timeless Style: They’ve got that classic Carhartt look—simple and rugged. They pair easily with work boots, tees, or hoodies without looking out of place in casual environments.⸻Overall Take: Worth every penny if you want pants that last. They hold up incredibly well to tough use and only improve after a few weeks of wear. Ideal for anyone in trades, outdoor work, or anyone who values long-lasting gear.

They live up to the brand
I had always heard that carhartt brand made great quality clothing that you could wear for years and years. I bought these overalls after trying another brand (not going to name the brand but i should have went with these from the get go) and these just fit so much better. The waste has a bit of elastic to the sides where you button them up which is appreciated as it lets you move a bit more freely. They do weigh a bit more than the other pair i bought but after seeing the quality of the fabric and stitching, i am glad. These wear really well and i have noticed that the "breaking in period" that carhartt is kind of known for is really not that bad. I will definitely get these again. The only advice i can say for people is i find the length to be the only issue with overalls, they are always too long in the leg for me so think about maybe getting a size smaller than what you wear in jeans for the inseam... the waste size is spot on though.

Won’t buy again
Carhart’s name is synonymous with quality and durability and these were no different. HOWEVER that’s where my interest in a second purchase ends. The duck fabric was very thick and very nice but the pockets were in odd places and the two front pant pockets hopelessly shallow. Things can easily fall out. The fit was spot on in the waist but I suggest ordering slightly longer for the inseam. Mine shrank to an almost comical length and I haven’t worn them since the first wash. I would return them but since I already washed and wore I figured that idea was out. I really liked the elastic shoulder straps very much, BUT if there is only one reason I won’t buy these again is the clips to attach to the bib. They feel thin and cheap and are very frustrating to attach and release. Was very excited to try my first pair of Carharts and was left feeling slightly nonplussed. I’ll stick with my less expensive, better fit and finish, and more utilitarian “Dickies” for overalls. I do however love most all of the other things in the carhart family and will still be a loyal consumer for everything else.

good fit 40/36
I bought 40W/36L one size up from my Carhartt canvass work jeans at 38/34. The paper Label on the suspenders and Carhartt sizeing recommend buying your pant size, but I'm confident that would have been too small or tight for my farming life style.I'm 6'4" 230lb, no gutt and they fit good with wearing thin Long Johns plus light underwear underneath, as they aren't insulated. They do run a little long so I could have gotten 34L. I'll machine wash in cold water and sun hang dry when possible to avoid shrinking. I don't like tight clothes as they hamper my active and physical work movements. The brass suspender clasps are a little hard to clasp but I think with gentle filing or sanding they'll work better. Other than that, they look of Carhartt quality and Amazon's price and fast free deliverywas the best. Next week we'll be cuttin and bucking two beetle riddled 100+ft. pines and that will be a test of my 1st Mexican made Carhartt. My US made Carhartt Artic Traditional Coat is a XXLT as my chest measures 50" over undergarments. It's now 10 yrs old and I've washed it many times and it's still in good condition and very warm. I do recommend Carhartt work wear.
